Yeah, 'thas been posted.
But, you see, my dear Ccrouton, even if it's been posted anywhere else (Where? Who knows! Your imagination is the limit!), doing so in the good ol' Docket makes it feel more oh, how to put it; I know, official!
But not official. Official.
You gotta give it the tone.

------
After that Yellow Submarine-movie-esque, er, stuff:

In all seriousness, I think the Docket is being used as 'the members' Trial Minutes', as a gathering of the relevant info, so that it's easir to find.

More on topic, this news had only been posted in the Prosecutor's Lobby, so whoever posted this either didn't know it had been posted or wanted it to be in a more 'centric' place.

...What am I writing about?
I guess I'm sleepy, so I am writing... longer? My mind makes no sense.

I know that's when it's launched.

I mean a more 'detailed' launch date other than Winter 2009 :edgy:

I'm not sure the game will be released in Europe before the US.
Capcom did say Winter, but not necessarily 2009... by the way, Winter 2009 would be something like 20~21st december to 31st of December...
Nah, I don't expect it before 2010, something like February/March, more likely.
I may be wrong. Loads of European fans HOPE I'm wrong xD

Also, Winter 2009 in gaming terms means "The winter that starts in 2009" in most cases. But you never know :D

Oh, they did ? Seems I missed that ^^"
I just remember a very vague : this Winter, and nothing more.
Though, it would be great for European fans to get it before the US, in order to make for GS3 who eventually came out in Europe months after GS4... :o

Could I see the press release where you get the Winter 2009 Europe release date, meph? I haven't heard anything other then 'This Winter' for both regions, and more recently a more specific month for the States.

Don't they fix spelling errors and mistakes in the British version? Well, at least some of them.
Like that Payne doesn't say that the Union Jack is the flag of England.

No, they just import it.

Also, i'm amazed I never spotted that one. Actually, they might've done, but I doubt it...

They did fix that. It's in a thread about the differences between the European and American version of the game. It had all sorts of facts about the different language versions.

Yeah, Capcom is good that they refine the English translation between the Japanese-English Release, the American-English Release, and the European-English Release. Though, if I recall, some European version of JFA still had the memorable "The Miracle Never Happen" line. But it was corrected in a subsequent European release.

Having not played T&T or AJ yet, I'm not sure, but weren't there certain jokes that were edited so Europeans would get them? Like some Canadian jokes that Brits wouldn't relate to. Ultrasaint told me there were.

No, they left in the Canada jokes...

We do actually get enough American TV over here that we know all the stereotypes. Our own included.

Scones and tea, anyone?

Incorrect. Not everyone watched load-upon-load of American tele. Some of us would much rather watch British programmes.

Oh I didn't realise there were Euro-English and US-English versions.... that's quite annoying, why can't they just have one English version, I'm sure most people would get all the jokes :gregory:

It's not always the jokes. Sometimes, there are important facts that British and Aussies might not be aware of. It's still written in American English and set in America, though, so there's not much difference. ;)

It's not as simple as just having one version. In Japan for instance, they rushed the English so they could have a more timely release. The official reason for including English in GS1, 2, and 3 DS was for the Japanese to be able to work on their English skills. They won't pick on minor errors because the majority of Japanese were going to play in Japanese, and those that were playing English could work on refining their understanding of the language and slang.

Americans on the other hand won't tolerate minor mistakes in their native language. So Capcom can't release the title until the game was nice and polished. Hence we have already a second English version.

Then we turn over to Europe. Europe won't release the game until it's been localized for some of the other languages so while the French and Spanish teams are working away the semi idle English version gets even more refinement.

So in the end, no, you don't really save any time by having just one English version. It sounds good on paper, but doesn't work with the way the current system runs.

And if we're going to talk about French here, it's another whole new level since they (unlike other language versions, except for "Klavier" in the German one - You can't call your rival "piano"!) change almost all the names (don't get me started over how stupid Edgey's name sounds) and even turned Jean Armstrong into an Italian guy, even though it makes no sense from the game whatsoever. But since the French don't seem to be able to laugh about themselves, they prefered to laugh about the Italian guy instead. *sigh*

Does Gyakuten Saiban take place in France, in the French Localization? If that's the case, then that would explain they they relocalized Jean. Also, the dual meaning of the Jean name would likely be lost on the French. In the USA, Jean is a Girl's name, in France, it's a guy's name. So when you first hear the name Jean, you think it's a girl, until you meet up in the restaurant, then it's established that it's a french eatery and a frenchman, and the American Female name is revealed as a French male.

That joke doesn't localize as is in France.

That would be AWESOME if it were true. Without sacrificing quality of translation and localization, of course.
