Recently, Yoshinori Ono revealed to Famitsu that Capcom is hesitant to make sequels to their games if the game hadn't achieved 2 million sales. We've yet to hear exact sales numbers from Dual Destinies, but with Dai Gyakuten Saiban coming to Japan in 2015, I'm sure the Ace Attorney series will live on.

So you're saying that if the sales aren't good, there won't be a sequel? Well then, better get the Dai Gyakuten Saiban and the English 3DS Trilogy sales sky high!

It's a little strange to me, are we getting a new installment of GS because sales of DD surpassed 2 million, or is this guideline effective today?

Don't you mean ¥¥¥¥¥¥? :3

I dunno about Capcom US or EU, though. Have they made any demands like this?

IGN's 'summary' of the translation by Eventhubs is horrible. And even that translation is off at the most important point: Ono is specifically talking about not being able to make a sequel to Street Fighter X Tekken, because that game didn't hit its projected sales numbers. Ono talks about 2.000.000 copies only in the context of SxT, and not about other Capcom titles (for those who want a new Darkstalkers, you should buy 4.000.000 copies of Darkstalkers Resurrection) (Original source).

So the only 'news' is that a game needs to hit projected sales numbers for Capcom to consider producing sequels. Which is rather obvious.

It's a shame it's not as popular here in the states. Maybe if AA tried to target adults, the series could be a hit.

Maybe Capcom actually meant for Dual Destinies to be that dark, just so it could get an M rating. Or maybe not... :sadshoe:

But still, it's a possibility.

4mil for Darkstalkers Ressurection is INSANE. Granted he's probably exaggerating, even reaching 1mil for a HD Remake/port is incredibly, incredibly optimistic. The game isn't even that popular in the fighting game community and it's not a new game.
