I'm no detective, but I can't find a "Link to Post" button on this forum.

I think it'd be really useful for cross-referencing posts in serious discussions (and I know there are a number of them going on here at any one time). It's a great way to keep old posts and presented ideas fresh, keeping conversations meaningful and preventing them from going in circles (without having to "hunt" too much for old posts or bungling with quotes).

Ah, you know just above the message, where it says the date and time that the message was posted? How there's a little file kind of icon just in front of it? I think that might be what you're looking for.

Borrowing from the graphic-ripped style of the other buttons accompanying posts...

These could replace the current button. (Admittedly they might be a tad large, in which case it's perfectly fine to make a smaller version. ) The ultimate goal is making the linking function obvious and convenient.
