Starting at about 1:00 PM EST I've been getting error messages whenever I try to post, and recently, whenever I try to open up a topic.

This is how it reads:
"Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@forums.court-records.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
"

The effects of the error seem to be that the post that I try to post is still posted on the forum, but it doesn't show up as a cookie (I think I'm using the term right) because it doesn't bump the thread or say that it was the most recent post. I used to get these messages sparsely, whidch was probably normal, but does anyoneknow why they're showing up at every link today?

I don't think this topic is going to even be posted because of the said error. XD

Well, if there's an explaination to what's going on, please, by all means, post on this thread. Image

Honestly, I don't think it's anything to worry about. There hasn't been any abnormal activity so I'm quite sure that we aren't the cause of it.

On the other hand, we are on a shared host.

Remember when we had the scavenger hunt? People were reloading the site so frequently that there were Internal Server Errors non stop (I actually couldn't log in via FTP to turn the forums off, it was that bad). Now, if things were that crazy when we did something unexpected, imagine the other web-masters using the same server.

In short, just because there's an ISE doesn't automatically mean it's our fault or that there is something that can/should be done about it.

Alright. It seems to have stopped now anyway. :butzthumbs: I wonder why it was doing that though. And who do we share the host with?

Dunno. It could be with one website (totally unlikely), it could be with 80, it could be with a thousand. All I know is that we're on the 'Clamato' Server

Servers aren't perfect; these things happen. It's nothing to worry about as long as it's only for a short time.
