There is only one DLC case, which they are localizing. The part they aren't localizing are the quiz DLCs. The award for completing the quizzes in the Japanese version, the Feenie costume, will instead be awarded when you finish the DLC case in the English version.

I'm hoping that the DLC release date is announced soon.

If it isn't released by Thanksgiving, I might just play DD and then go back and play the DLC case like everyone else.

I'm doing it in kind of a weird way. I played the fan translation patch, then for cases 3, 4, and 5 I'm using dowolf's video translation while playing my Japanese copy of GK2. I zoom the videos' sizes up, then I scroll down so only the bottom screen (the one that dowolf uses to annotate the english text) is showing. Then I "sync" where he is and where I am on my Japanese copy, and I begin to play, clicking A on my 3DS and then looking up at the big words on my computer. It actually works really well during "linear" scenes, but I have to do the investigations myself and then just watch his investigation after the "investigation complete" kanji appear on my 3DS, since it's non-linear. I wouldn't recommend this method to anyone else (I'd say just wait for the next fan translation patch) but I was determined to finish GK2 before GS5 so it works fine for me.

Yeah it does sound like a lot of work and i admit I would do that as well but now that i finally got Dual Destinies i don't need GK2 to pass the time for now.

If you really wanted to experience the rest of GK2 before the rest of the fan translation came out I'd say don't bother buying an import copy just watch dowolf's videos. The only reason I'm doing it so complicated is to justify the $40 import copy of GK2 I bought before dowolf started his play through and long before the fan translation came out.

I really wouldn't spend money on it either especially since i use the emulator and i found the original rom for GK2

I bought a copy because I wanted to have something on the shelf between AAI and AJ, but also because I find it's more fun/comfortable to play it on my 3DS personally, but that's because my desk setup is meant more for work than gaming.

That makes sense.

On a different note, Janet Hsu is going to be talking about the DLC case on her next developer blog, so we should keep our eyes out for a DLC release date sometime this week. I would imagine that would be a great time to announce it, but on the other hand, Capcom hasn't been that logical about when they will announce something, so they might still just say "It's coming soon!" or something.

Well, if they're continuing their pattern of translating the Japanese devblog, the full devblog entry on the DLC was put out just before the DLC itself, if memory serves. Of course, that might not mean anything, but maybe we'll get lucky and get a release this week.

That's a good sign, if only because it reinforces the idea that the best time to announce it would be in the dev blog discussing it. Since most fans have probably already finished the game and have moved on to other things, it's not like they can slowly just announce things like they could before it was released, so I would imagine we'll hear about it this week if only to make sure the interest holds for a bit. I'm sure there are going to be some fans (probably none here on Court Records, but maybe people whose life isn't completed ruled by AA) who probably won't remember to download the DLC even if it's released soon.

Isn't the SpotPass feature there for announcing when the DLC is ready?

That's true, but I wonder how many people actually use it/notice that they have notifications. I certainly never do.

I'm sure that Capcom will announce it on Unity and on Spotpass, to get the maximum visibility.

That's probably a good timetable. I think I'll abide by that as well (but of course I still have AA4 to play through again so I can continue to bide my time).

Same here; I have the manga to get through (I could get through it in like 2 hours but I'm really busy with school so it will probably take a couple of days) and then I have to play AJ (which will probably take 1-2 weeks) so I won't even be ready for DD until around Thanksgiving. But I can't imagine they'd wait that long.

Yeah, I read all of them. I thought that they were ok; didn't exactly feel very ace attorney-ish, but not exactly bad in their own way.. w-w-w-wait a minute! This is an AA:DD thread!

So I meant to ask, for all those who already finished, how would you rate the game?

They're doing a dev blog about the DLC case? Then I suppose it's unlikely it'll be released tomorrow. What a shame. I finished the game 10 days ago, I'm really itching to get my hands on that DLC case.

Even so, the game's not that long, you can beat it in 3-2 days or something.

You must be a speed reader or something. Most people seem to be completing DD in around 30 hours. I'm around 37 and I'm not quite done yet (at the last part of case 5, I believe), but that's partly because I'm getting all the wrong answers on purpose to see the flavor.

And because the game allows you to try again if you get Guilty (go back to where you failed with full confidence bar), there's no need to reload after every intentional failure!

I usually take 25-30 hours on new AA games as well but I still beat them in like less than a week since I can't help but spend every bit of free time on it. Luckily, I now have tons of work all the time since I'm in college so hopefully that will have the benefit of not letting me get through it so quickly.

i know how you feel, every second i have free time i glue myself to the 3DS while i was playing dual destinies but now since i beat it im gonna start it all over again just incase i missed anything while i was playing and to better understand everything until the DLC comes out.

Same here. I never rush through games I love, so even when I spot the contradiction right away I first press all statements to see all of the dialogues. Also, while I am very confident in my English reading skills I am no native speaker, so I probably read a bit slower.

I'm not sure if there's a page with all the blog entries, but going to http://www.capcom-unity.com/ will let you see this story when/if it appears.

EDIT: Never mind, found her blog: http://www.capcom-unity.com/zeroobjections/blog

Still, it's possible the announcement will occur by Chris or someone else first, and it's not for sure her blog will come out today (although it's usually always on Wednesdays or Thursdays) so we'll have to wait and see.

EDIT: Found something interesting on the AA Facebook page
Official Ace Attorney Facebook Page in Response to "When will the free DLC be released ? wrote:
We'll have more info on that shortly, it's a few weeks away yet

Now, the FB page isn't exactly known for being reliable *cough* midnight release of DD, Every character ever being in DD *cough* but it might be a hint. That was written on October 30th, so we might expect the DLC case anytime in the next week or so.

EDIT 3: Well, it looks like the miracle never happen. Hsu has never done a developer blog on a Friday, so my guess is this week isn't the week we'll find out about the DLC. Maybe they'll surprise us next week.
I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Developer blog or not, it better come out next week. Considering that it was actually fully translated and done at the release of the English version, taking longer to release it than it took for the JP version would just be pathetic.

Still no concrete news, but the official Twitter says:
"Looks like the final case was a lot of people's favorite! We'll have more news on the new DLC case very soon."

As always I hope this time "very soon" means we'll learn the release date "this week".
