There definitely were some grammatical errors in case 2, which I find more noticeable than spelling errors (which I recall there were a few of too). Again, not in excessive quantity, but there were more than past AA games.

I don't think that's something written in one go. Perhaps they were checking grammar errors, when they noticed that sentence, they corrected it. Not realizing how it works in the sentence, it became a bigger spelling error. (That's what I mostly do anyway.)
