Just the other day I was angsting over the fact that I've now played through all of the AA games and there's no new stuff for me. And then this. There is a god.

I totally agree with you, i was getting bored and my cravings for more AA games were going crazy.

On the other hand, hopefully steel samurai = maya. I'm surprised we didn't see her in GK 1, what with the steel samurai and jammin' ninja commotion, and with Butz!

The news totally made my day, and now there's finally something to look forward too!

Hmm.. if this game is set after the disbarring case, then maybe that's the source of Edgeworth's 'conflict', perhaps wondering what's going on with Phoenix.

Well, that might be part of it, but for some reason, I just can't see Edgeworth angsting over Phoenix the way Phoenix did over him in JFA. But I'd welcome a "Phoenix's disbarment, man that sucks" even if it were only a passing thought.

It's probably unlikely but... what if this means we'll have a chapter set in the AJ era? It would certainly be an unexpected twist, and I think we're due to see more older version characters.

I don't think it would be necessary to set a chapter in the AJ era, but it would definitely be interesting if they did. After all, we only got to see Payne and Hobohodo after seven years.

I saw that yesterday while I was at college, sitting with my friends in the cafe.

I came.

Now, the only thing is this: It MUST take place during the AJ timeline. I want to know what happened to Edgeworth and Gumshoe during that time. I mean, we have a general speculation that Edgeworth went overseas and Gumshoe married Maggie and quit his job/becomes chief of police/still has the same job, but it would be nice to see some cannon things, ja?

Now, once I buy T&T in January, I'll have this one to add to my collection. XD

Expecting too much. Capcom rarely, if ever, deviates from a formula that simply "works" as opposed to "pushes boundaries".

One can hope. It was much too easy in GK1.

Actually, I'll bet you just answer questions proposed by the game and then a chess piece moves to indicate progression within that line of thought/argument. It'll be nothing spectacular.

Well considering the point was for Maya to potentially starve to death (after all he left her completely alone sometimes) and only a few people knew it but were never allowed to mention it, he could have still appeared in court.

I think people forget that no one knows what De Killer looks like (that being the main protagonists), so Edgeworth talking to De Killer isn't totally out of the question: He wouldn't even know what he looks like!

I'd say Edgeworth is smart enough to know that an assassin on the Top 10 Most Wanted list wouldn't walk around with his calling card logo actively showing, and I'd say Shelley de Killer is smart enough to know that others must be smart enough to know that an assassin on the Top 10 Most Wanted list wouldn't walk around with his calling card logo actively showing.

I can't read a smidge of actual Japanese if it isn't in romanji. Are you talking about in JFA, or in some of the new high quality scans?

If you're talking about JFA, my post still stands. If you're talking about the new scans, my opinion of the Gyakuten series actually trying to take the mystery genre seriously will be gone.

If I were extremely wanted, and obscure as far as the public (and a lot of the law enforcement) is concerned, I'd say walking around on display is actually smarter than trying to conceal yourself. As assassin who won't even show in person for a trial wouldn't be walking around at a public event in a pink suit, wearing a monocle and sporting his own logo, would he? Oh wait, he could. His face, prints and personal data aren't on file, neither is his real identity.

I don't know, I think that's kinda pushing. When you see someone parading around with the logo of a wanted assassin, "Oh, this man must be a DeKiller wannabe!" wouldn't really be the first thought that would come to mind, especially if you're a prosecutor with an express desire to apprehend said assassin. xD

But either way, the fact that DeKiller would risk getting his cover blown only serves to make the first case all the more interesting. I'm really looking forward to it.

I find myself agreeing OniXera on this matter. In JFA, no one recognized De Killer as "De Killer", only "that strange bellboy". It's not unreasonable to assume that De Killer's identity is anonymous even to the police force.

Yeah, but we must remember: Edgeworth is a man of intellect. He may be questioning De Killer in the scans simply because he sports the logo ('That's an interesting outfit you have there, where'd you get the idea for it?'), or maybe even because he is just there at the scene and may have witnessed something. He isn't the type that would assume that it was a De Killer wannabe, or even De Killer himself. What professional assassin would be stupid enough to put his only active connection to murders on display?

Phoenix likened "that bellboy" to a baseball. I have always wondered about that, and question as to whether that is even De Killer's real face and not simply a complex mask or body suit.

Mmm, If DeKiller had one shell button, then the conjecture everyone has would be pushing it. As it stands, he's got two. No way Edgeworth doesn't know who John Doe really is. Or at least, it's one logic screen away.

Anyways, I'm more curious about DeKiller's ice cream cone. That's a peculiar design.

Also, I hope DeKIller is the victim. That would be amazingly epic. Who Assassinated the Assassin?

I don't get how the number of shells changes anything. Now, if he had a card with his symbol on it on his person, then it wouldn't be pushing it.

Also, I rue the day an Ace Attorney character knows something right off the bat. De Killer will stay as he is on record, a John Doe.

I can't believe no one have still point out some facts of the game writed in Gyakuten Kenji 2 site. I even had to register forum just to point some facts which still haven't noted.

- In character description of Edgeworth, it says that he is candidated as attorney general. Also, there is written something about him being responsible for major incident. Nothing new revealed in Kay's and Gumshoe's profiles.

- There is one other thing which bother me a little. In page about examining, there is something about Edgeworth investigating crime scenes with partner and 怪しい場所, which I have no idea what that is. In direct translation it's called Old Place, but it's not japanese name for Little Thief, which is something like nusumi-chan. Could it be new item, or have I just somehow misleaded?

Nothing else I didn't occur from GK2 site. There was own page about chess system, but it just basically said "Expect to see the story" and nothing about how it does work. Also the story page summarize that there was going to be some kind speech in Gourd Lake, which might be already obvious. Nothing specific details from case.

Isn't DeKiller's logo not entirely well known? Phoenix had no idea what it was and neither did Adrian, I think it might be mentioned it's only known to some police forces.

Either way it's not civilian knowledge the whole concept of Dekiller assassin 'wannabes' and fanboys seems flawed.

Oh, the number of shells does change something.

If it's a single one, then you could 'almost' chalk it up to coincidence.
Two? Something's really fishy.
Prominently displayed on his uniform? Where's the police?
Two prominently displayed on his uniform? Now he's just showing off.

And, unless this is a flash back case, then Edgeworth should know the DeKiller emblem quite well. He was the one to bring it up when he saw Adrian holding that card.

Maybe it's a flashback case where DeKiller is killed and a young boy who turns out to be his son lends a cravat from you and gives it back to you many years after, and you team up with him in some cases? :gant:

The question is not "Why wouldn't Edgeworth identify de Killer as such, given the obvious shell emblems?", but rather "Why would Shelley even WANT to wear them so openly?" What purpose could it possibly serve?

And now, I go to feel all depressed because the excitement of hearing of GK2 being announced is to be replaced with the prolonged agony of waiting :sadshoe:
