Er, hey, I'm mostly a lurker (never really felt the need to register before *sweat*) but I just felt like pointing something out on the voting page. I checked earlier when I voted an hour, hour and a half ago and then checked recently and suddenly a ton of entries just spiked in votes by up to about 30 votes from when I last saw them. Maybe it's just traffic but the numbers that went up and the categories involved would mean a lot of votes put in a short amount of time.

EDIT: I guess I should specify. By up to about 30 votes I mean entries jumping from 20s to 50s and stuff.

I also noticed that I could vote for the categories again after I had already voted- that's not right ^^; I suppose it cuts out anonymous votes if you force one vote per person, but still... there's nothing I hate more than an unfair contest. If I won or lost cause of spam votes I wouldn't be happy :(

IT's too hard to control though I guess :sadshoe:

Everyone is only allowed one vote per category. If you don't want to vote in all three categories, you don't have to. Those caught voting multiple times risk getting their entry disqualified.

You are allowed to link your friends to this contest so they can see the entries. However, you must link them to the contest page. Do NOT link directly to the voting page. Any creator caught doing this will be disqualified. I had no trouble doing it last year, I'll do it again!

We want this contest to be fair, not a "who has the most friends on Deviant-Art" contest. Please view all the entries and use your honest judgment when voting. All votes are anonymous.

Well, if they can track patterns in voters, then I guess that's cool :) I don't like contests which end up being popularity contests, that's all. I want everyone to have a fair chance ^^

A Question.

In the artwork of Syn Donaghy, why does Apollo appear to be wearing a girl's Yukata?

(Actually, when I look at it again, it seems more and more like a Kimono. D: )

EDIT: It is a Kimono. D:

Why is Apollo wearing one?

Are we allowed to say who we voted for and why? I didn't see anything saying that wasn't allowed, but no one is doing it...

As for voting...I'm more a fan of putting up polls on the forum, but making it so only people who have been members for a certain amount of time can vote. That way, it's a lot harder to vote repeatedly or get your friends to vote for you.

I think the idea is so EVERYONE can vote. And as preference- I'd rather not. Please put it in spoiler tags for me if you do. I don't want to know who someone votes for

But it's a system that can easily be abused and become a popularity contest.

Meanwhile, that way is more of a Nazi styled moderating of a contest. Not everyone's a member of the forums (ex: lurkers) and also, how would you decide what time a person has been a member is appropriate to be allowed to vote? Either way, it ends up alienating a part of the community.

For the record though, I'm a fan of one vote per IP styled voting.

Many of the people who submitted entries are not forum members themselves, so I wouldn't want to limit voting to the forum. In some contests we do that (like PYP is forum-only) but in order to get as many entries and voters as possible, a site poll is best. Don't worry, we're keeping an eye on the votes.

Please don't talk about who you voted for until after the contest is over.

Males only wear Yukatas. Females can wear both Kimonos and Yukatas. But what Apollo is wearing is clearly a Kimono... (Thick Obi, plus other adornments on it. Can't see if the sleeves are big or small tho.)

It seems that it is the same as what Trucy and Syn are wearing. And they are wearing Kimonos. D:

But ah well. That's the only little thing I have something to say about the picture. ^^;

(Still not sure who to vote for...)
