I'm having the same problem. I played the previous rom and saved after case 2, but my save data is gone. the case 3 save state that someone just uploaded doesn't work for me, either.

Edit:

Here is the proper process to make the patch work, and start at case 3:

Apply the patch to a new clean Gyakuten Kenji 2 rom file.
Start up Desmume.
File -> Import backup memory -> 'case 3 start.sav' (http://www.mediafire.com/download/udb6v ... +start.zip)
Then you would be able to start from case 3.

If you want to use the save-game you already have, you need to make sure the save-file and the rom have the same name.

Does anybody by chance have a save file of all the cases being beaten? I haven't played any of them yet, but the super slow text pace that you're not allowed to speed up until you replay a case is killing me. Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me.

I can't use import backup memory because it apparently doesn't work on Macs.

Thank you to everyone working on the patch, I've been looking forward to playing this game. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work on my flash card. I'm using an R4i with AKAIO 1.8.1. With the bypass anti-piracy option on, I get a black screen saying: Failed to read data. Turn power OFF and reinsert DS card. With the option off, I get a white screen. The AKAIO version is a bit outdated, but it's the newest one available for my card. Is this fixable, or will I need to play it with an emulator?

Thanks a lot to the team for their hard work, I'm waiting patiently for the full-game patch! Thank you sooo much :)

Okay, now Openemu is refusing to load any more games. I can still play the ones I already have in there, but my new patched GK2 rom can't be added to the library nor played from the "launch game" option.

Yes, I saw those and I'm using one in the meantime, but unfortunately that only allows me to speed up text that has already been seen. Anything that wasn't checked by those people still gives the super slow text, plus, they will only help me up til case 3 starts.

The in-game text pacing also adds much to the game. Skipping it takes away a lot from the game experience.
Although I can empathise if you're a speedreader, so I've given you my save file below, which goes up to case 5.
Just remember that reading something fast reduces how well you take in the game itself.

Much appreciated. I'm not skipping any of the text, I'm just a fast reader in general which makes the slow text speed almost unbearable at times.

I'm really glad to see the newest entries in series are allowing you to speed up text from the get go (AA5 and VLR in particular).

Excellent work once again, and kudos to the folks providing the saves/methods for using your old save. As much as I loved case 1 and 2 (especially 2, with it becoming a new series favorite) I definitely didn't want to beat them all over again to play 3. :-P I like Gregory's objection. Wish I didn't spoil the culprits for myself a million years ago because this is one heck of a case with the shift between past and present.

I have the patch and a clean rom, but where do I send it after I patched it to the rom? Both the beat patcher and the delta patcher are asking me to provide an output.

The Xdelta link doesn't work- it is only Case 1-2. There is only a teaser for case 3.

Visiting the Xdelta link now lets me know there's an 'updated' version available. Did you use that, or the original Xdelta one?

I just finished the case.

I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to the team that made this possible. I was getting impatient, wondering why it took so long to come out with the next case, but after playing through it, it's very clear. So much work was put into this release and the quality is crystal clear. If I have to wait twice as long for the next case, then so be it.

The game is awesome and more than makes up for the disappointment (IMO) that the first one was. I'm extremely disappointed in Capcom for not localizing it, making western fans believe that it wouldn't be a significant contribution to the Ace Attorney timeline.

Again, thank you to the team that made this possible. My view of the AAI series has completely changed.

Auryn's updated the files.
The new downloads now both contain the proper case 1-3 patch.
He also included a fix for the issue with desmume 0.9.10

Currently only fix for desmume 0.9.10 is not to use it. Use 0.9.9.

You may want to try loading from the start of a case, unless it freezes before that. Loading into the middle of a case probably won't work.

I found this on another forum. They say you can't normally use it on some other systems. I don't know if this applies for you.

"if youre lucky you dont need windows, if you ensure that you start with a raw sav (convert it if necessary) and then name it .sav matching the name of your game--desmume will try to import it and drop a .dsv alongside it. but generally the best way to do it is to use windows."

Make real save with old patch, not save state. Load that save with new patch. Start from beginning of chapter or episode.

So basically save it on windows then convert it to mac save?

I don't know. I think the save files are cross-platform compatible, but I'm not sure.
Here's the forum I found the above information on, if you want to see how others have similar problems:
http://forums.desmume.org/viewtopic.php?id=8485

Personally, what I'd do is try and run it on Wine, or a Virtual Machine like VMWare.

Ah I could try Wine since I used it before with my PPSSPP emulator.Ill check out the forum to see.

Nvm. Out of nowhere I was able to load the save file from the ROM itself.
