You know how Athena promises that they will be done in ten minutes and they later note that they didn't quite make the goal? The game actually checks if you did make the goal or not and slightly adjusts the script.

......I have to admit, I'm very impressed by this. Nice nuances makes a game better overall!

No web demo= no point in wanting to even consider buying the game, or buying a 3ds to play this.

Do most of them have a web demo?

Also you might want to consider buying the game because...well I dunno...you've been a fan of the previous entries in the series, at least enough to join a fan forum for it? You'd like to support future releases? You've bought other games without demos at some point in your life before?

I don't think that makes a lot of sense. The reason that the old games had web demos was that anyone who owned an original version of the DS could not download anything so even if Capcom could place a demo one the DSI store several people would not be able to access it/ That is not the case with the 3DS since any version can access the eshop and downlad the demo. Also there are several games that don't have any demos.

Sorry Huddini has been pretty anti-3DS in the past so you can never be too certain about these things.

I'm fairly certain he isn't joking. Because it's not appearing on the all glorious gaming platform of the future, the iOS.

The demo was awesome, I really liked how they pan back and forth when they show the gallery. Just the smaller things that make the game seem more immersive than the previous installments. Phoenix's voice somehow isn't how I thought it would be but I guess I'll get used to it. The actor's good, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Also adding to my original point the only games I can even recall getting a web demos were from this series and the Layton series. This is obviously not counting demos from computer games that are downloaded on Steam since they are accessed from the web in the first place. (and would be the equivalent of downloading a 3ds game demo from the 3DS eShop) Unless you refused to play virtually every console game ever made the complaint no merit.

Just adding my own two cents about this web demo discussion:

1. As others have mentioned, the main appeal of a flash web demo was because there was no way of getting DS demos out there easily. Now that the 3DS has made getting true demos you can play on your system so easy, there's really no point.

2. With the previous entries in the series a web demo made sense because of the sprite-based art. It made it as simple to make as any other flash game. GS5 uses actual models now, and while you can make a flash demo with those it's not the same thing. They made a flash GS5 demo for the Japanese website and it wasn't nearly as good as the demo I played on the 3ds.

3. As stated above, the reason for a flash demo was because it was the best way to get it out there at the time. But as stated in Defender123's post, that isn't the norm. It's not normal to find demos on systems that are different than the final game's. I can't get an Uncharted demo on my PC, I can't get a Half-Life 2 demo on my Gamecube, and I can't get a demo for Wind Waker HD demo on my PS3. There's no point in releasing a demo for a system that the final game won't be appearing on.

4. AA's gameplay hasn't changed dramatically since the first game (not counting the GK games). GS5 is probably the game that needs a demo least, since we all know how AA plays. The only thing new are the plot elements, which can be seen in trailers and demo playthroughs.

5. If someone really wanted a flash demo, it's still available on the Japanese site: http://www.capcom.co.jp/gyakutensaiban/ ... index.html
It's in Japanese, but once again you can get the basics of the plot from playthroughs of the English demo.

Hmmm.... I wonder from when it counts. I tried this just now and I kept track of the time as I went through, and even though I counted 6 or 7 minutes, I still got the message that they went over 10.

For sure, if you liberally use the B button and present as soon as possible, a different message will appear. I even decided to press a few times (holding B) and see if the different message still appeared, and it did.

So, what'S the different message? I never got it, even when I completed the part in around three minutes.

Very minor. Instead of saying "even if it took a bit longer than 10 minutes" Phoenix says "I already got the hang of this!" or something like that.

I wonder if there's anything like this (timed events, etc.) in the final game.

I am not sure if it actually counts the time. I timed it from the time that I activated the demo once and got the over 10 minuet line even though it was not even close to that amount of time. Its possible that its random or there is some other mechanism causing that line.

In case 4, you use Ema's "X-Ray Analyzer" on her lottery ticket.

And what he is referring to is how the outcome of the ticket is random. There are three outcomes for the ticket.

The outcome is in fact not random, it depends on what button you use to progress through the conversation. Something like if you use the A button, touchscreen or both.

I'll definitely try that out soon. I'm currently in the last trial of case 3 of AA4. I don't recall when the x-ray scanner thing takes place in case 4, but I'll be sure to try it out, saving beforehand of course so I can test the different outcomes.

I found a post on a gaming site about this:

http://www.chaptercheats.com/cheat/ds/2 ... /egg/1335/

Quote:
To see the Big winner they musn't be skipped with the B button or touching the screen, if the player keeps pushing the B button to skip them then the Try again appears, and if it touches the screen too much to skip sentences then the You lose appears.

Not sure if they mean that using the touchscreen to continue the dialogue on the first playthrough will give you a "you lose" or if skipping text via the touch screen on replays will give you a "you lose".

I think the text says that it is the amount of text skipped, not the method used, that matters.
