The entries for this year's OC contest are up, and voting is open! Everyone is allowed to vote once in each category. You do not have to vote in each category: if you have no particular favorite in a category, it's all right to leave it blank.

If you want to link your friends to the contest, that is all right. HOWEVER, the only link you're allowed to post is to THE MAIN CONTEST PAGE. If you post a link in your blog or Deviantart etc simply to the voting page with "Vote for #whatever" you'll be disqualified.

Polls will close next week Wednesday night, the 17th, 11:59pm. Good luck to everyone who entered and enjoy the entries!

Once voting is done, the rest of the entries that did not make the finals will appear on the site.

Sorry that my judging didn't make it up in time, I hadn't checked my hotmail until this afternoon, and was just about ready to send mine off. (busy with A-levels etc.)

Luckily it seems my votes correspond almost entirely with those chosen, so it's ok I guess.

Sorry I couldn't wait for you Nose, but people were getting anxious! You'll still have the chance to participate in the final judge vote at the end.

You've got to have more confidence than that.
If you're going to enter, you must be certain that your OC must be as good as it can be.
Because if you screw it up, you can't reenter it for a while from waht i've heard.
...And that's why I havn't entered any OC competitions yet.
Good luck anyway.
EDIT: lol, the Voting is not open yet sign reminds me of all those warnings from Strictly come dancing, saying the same thing.

I think the only rule about entering is that you can't enter the same character twice... no matter how you do.

Woah. Three characters in the "Fanart" section look like the work of professionals.

Syn Donaghy
Justin Kase
Angelo Gant

are looking great. I am very impressed, especially that they came up with their own "the art of Gyakuten Saiban" page. :godot:

I bet if it were a Hotel Dusk contest your character would've won hands down, it's got the crazy plot, the motives, the intrigue and an artistic style that compliments Dusk's gritty world.

As for myself, I haven't decided who I want to vote for. Flonnie, Jan K. Pohn, Syn Donaghy, and Angelo Gant are all characters or types of Characters I'd love to run into in the games. Never mind that we've got an amazing variety of very high quality fan art outside of the ones I just mentioned. XD It was much easier judging, I didn't have to pick just one that I thought was good.

He was made for a more Noir storyline, but yeah, I don't expect to win (Heck- looking at the comments, I wont make the top three XD ). In hind sight, I should've submitted a lineart rather than a pencil render to suit the audience better. Oh well ^^; I wish everyone else luck!

I second your sentiments on picking just on winner, Wooster. I had a lot of fun reading all the fan fiction entries when I was judging, but narrowing it down to one vote will be very difficult for me. All the finalists definitely deserve to be in the competition, and all the characters and stories were very interesting.

I couldn't imagine judging fanfiction. That'd take you AGES to filter through. Was there alot of entries?

I couldn't imagine doing that too, mainly because I'm pretty impatient. D: A few fanfictions are alright, but if there where too many...
I was amazed that I even got in, though. (: There are so many good entries this year, especially in the fanart section.

Kudos to whoever did Justin Kase, I would like to see this character in a GS game.
I was 17 when I joined this forum. During this time I participated in a thread that made light of sexual assault and event making jokes about it. I didn't think much of it at the time other than portraying a villain. I am older, looking back see how unacceptable & disgusting. I removed the comments because I do not wish to condone this behaviour. But of course fragments remain. I can only apologise for any hurt of distress caused.

Fanfiction is... always the most intriguing category to judge, I must say. Did I post pointer tips a few years back? Perhaps I should (again?) this year, after the contest closes. :lana:

Having judged the Fanart section last year, I'd say it was roughly the same breakdown. The proportion of entries that impressed me matches, though we have less entries this year compared to last (50 I think in 2008).

Yeah, it's a nice touch. Same happened with the lovely, gorgeous, pouting lady who is my avatar who was, I think, runner-up last year :karma:

(I never recorded who designed her, so if it was YOU, then you have my very gracious thanks!)

Good luck to the finalists, bon chance. I had fun judging the sprites this time, I think it seems most of us were fairly consistent on who we've put through...

If you scroll to the bottom of any of the three categories, it'll have a small box with a text that says "If you are ready to vote, please proceed to the Voting page" and a link.
