Hi everyone,

First, I apologize if this is the wrong Forum for this topic. I just joined ^_^

As I'm sure most of you know already, the popular Takarazuka Revue performed an original adaptation of Gyakuten Saiban back in April, and they're performing a sequel this month. I've been working on subtitles for the first Gyakuten Saiban musical, and will start work on the second as soon as I finish. I plan on making them available as soon as they are finished (which should be by the end of August, if my co-translator picks up the slack =P). I don't plan on distributing the video itself, only the subtitles file.

I have uploaded a few sample clips to Youtube just so you can get an idea of what the content of the musical is like. Feel free to check them out if you want!

Note: I'm not a native Japanese speaker, and thus I may very well have made mistakes in the subtitles. Feel free to post any corrections or suggestions. I would be very grateful, as I hope to improve my translation skills as much as possible. ^_^

That was awesome, so awesome... thanks you very much for the uploading, even though I doubt it will stay on youtube for very long... well, at least we can hope Takarazuka don't get words of these videos before a few weeks, if not months xD
I just hope I'll have ordered the DVD by then, but it's so expensive... well, in the mean time, feel free to publish all the videos you can on Youtube xD

I'm glad you guys like the videos ^_^ I would post more, but I don't want to risk getting them taken down. The original videos I posted back in April survived for months until I took them down myself a couple days ago, so I think these videos will stick around for a while (hopefully).

And if anyone's interested in the DVD, I totally recommend that you buy it if you can spare the cash. It's got a great story (it actually has many similarities with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Case 5) and amazing performances, my two personal faves being Edgeworth and Lotta Hart (lol! Her testimony is the funniest thing ever). Plus you get to see backstage practice sessions and other fun bonuses, and you support Takarazuka so that they bring us more Gyakuten Saiban goodness. :)

Yay! Somebody's translating it! Thank you! Also, I will repeat what I said a long time ago when we were first getting the rehearsal videos: The Larry is amazing. :D

At first I was hoping the Takarazuka Insanity Project would try to sub it but considering how long it takes them and how much they're working on already, I wasn't expecting getting a translation unless they started releasing official subs overseas. I'll be so happy to see your subtitles, unfortunately, I don't have the cash to actually *watch* the video. So I'll probably just end up reading them over and over...

Seriously, we should have a forum dedicated to all the Takarazuka Productions...

Once again, thank you so much for uploading and subtitling those videos, especially Edgeworth's and Gover Millor's :p
Each time I come by the forum, I go to this thread to watch the videos once again. I really love them, and I think I will rip the audio of Miller's, since the song in this one wasn't in the songs available on Musicco and such.

How exactly would you use the subtitle file and make it appear as it did in some of the preview videos? I really know nothing about video editing, but would be more than willing to buy the DVD if I knew I could watch with subs. :phoenix:

The subs for Gyakuten Saiban: Yomigaeru Shinjitsu were completed a few days ago! You can download the subs in either .ass or .srt format from these links:

Now, the only thing to do is find a way to get the video... either by buying the DVD (but it's so expensive O_O), or...

Well, just translating the dialogues/songs of a show without the agreement of the copyright owners IS IN ITSELF a violation of copyright laws... :p
Though, I fully understand your decision not to release the sub video. Besides, you were nice enough to share the subs with us ^^

I really really wanna watch the whole thing! Though cash is sparse....and I don't know japanese...

It also seems like it's only those four pieces that have been subbed-seriously, i've looked on the internets all day for more. ¬.¬ Peh.

BTW I loved Edgey's song xD Perfect.

Whew, it's been a while. :phoenix:

I know I promised this long ago, but I never got around to posting the directions for adding subs to the Takarazuka DVD files until recently. You can find the instructions on my most recent blog post here: http://kiyoshimitsu.livejournal.com/.

Also, I am currently in the process of subbing Gyakuten Saiban The Musical #2. So stay tuned for more info about that! I plan on releasing a few teaser clips soon, which you can rest assured will be linked here when they go live.
