Swag Alert! Capcomunity Valentines Contest

Capcom is hosting another contest. The theme this time? Valentines! Or at least, that's the most forward segment of it. There are two parts, one is the tribute, where you can design/create/show off anything you want, and the other is the Valentines theme. In total, you get like two shots for this contest. As for what you can submit,

It's good that you have the idea, since the time limit is quite short. I'm still debating on making a run down version of Remnants of the Past's first case, in the style of Capcom's own online demos and submitting it, along with the synopsis of the first case to show that it's not just a half-assed project that I put together in a quick lunch break. I'm thinking of bunching it into a ZIP file with the shortened demo, synopsis, and the trailer.

I'm pretty sure Capcom knows of our fan games. They have to had at least browsed these forums and seen the Games section. It is very suspicious that they haven't said anything yet...

Actually, if you do a bit of research, fan games are usually tolerated as much as fanfiction. I believe Capcom have never commented on fanfiction but other companies have.

Also, if they had been here, they are probably ignoring alot of things on here because all the sprites and fan book scans violate copyright law. Instead of praise, they'd be slapping us with cease and desist orders.
Fan fiction is one thing. The only thing an author is stealing in that sense are the characters and setting. In the case of fan game's you are stealing more intellectual property with the sprites and music.
At least that is my take on why it make sense for Capcom not to comment on fan games.

That's kind of the goal of keeping this place open. I'm not sure if Capcom of American is as much to worry about, but we definitely want to keep Capcom of Japan out of here.

Companies like Capcom don't want anything to do with them. They usually don't care about what happens in some forum about one of their games (they have better things to do) but in the unlikely event that a fan game becomes enough well-known, they'll ask it to be removed.
