Court Records may have started out as an Ace Attorney only site, but over the past few years the adventure genre of gaming has received a tremendous boost, and we are all too happy to celebrate it! In the spirit of giving much needed light to these smaller titles, and in honor of the upcoming Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney game, CR is hosting this Crossover Contest, featuring four of our favorite franchises: Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Hotel Dusk, and Ghost Trick!

The idea is to create a piece of fanwork that fuses at least two of the franchises listed above. It can be in the form of a fanfic, a piece of artwork, a sprite, a comic, a flash video--whatever you can come up with! For more details, check out the official rules page, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here or via email.

Art promoting the contest was provided by Brain Hemorrhage

Let's get remixing!

BooYA!
I was afraid we wouldn't have any contests for while,
so this is just awesome!
...And I just think I might know what to enter with.
But...In terms of excitement, I may enter with something other too.
But seriously; get hyped 'cause I have already!

...yyyyyyyYYYYYAAAAAAA...!!! :zennybw:

EDIT:
@looby
- exactly right. :D

Woohoo! I've never entered a CR contest before so might try this one. Never played Hotel Dusk or Ghost Trick though so I know which two I'll be fusing.

Man I think Kyle would freak out in the presence of a ghost. Also can't see him and Layton getting on well.
Here's hoping there will be some interesting non slash fan fiction to come out of this.

Just keep in mind that this is a contest of quality, not a race, may the best man or woman win. And you've got till December on top of which.

Wow, I might consider entering my first contest on CR.

Just a question,

If you create the fan art thing does the art have to be completely by you or can it be a bunch of photos from... lets say Google images photo shopped into one big art and then edited and stuff? Is the question stupid? :bellboy:

I must say, the SNES cartridge style on that picture is a very nice touch. Good luck, everyone.

As long as you're not combining someone else's fanart, that's fine. Official images from any of the games are totally fair game.

Oh, I first learned from this contest via deviantArt thanks to Wooster's + Hemorrhage's magnificent artwork as described in the opening post.

Considering I've been working on a PW/Disgaea crossover for two years now, It's a bit of a shame It's not eligible for entry.
Ah well, I already have the manga in my bookshelf. ^^

Besides, it's not about winning is it now? After all, isn't the point to show love and appreciation to the series?
I do hope people will take this little contest as an incentive, I always enjoy quality fanworks!

It's the first time in 3 years that I've posted. Still mindblown that Croik is female.
I never got to be a finalist in OC Contests :P LOL. I hope I get into this one.

I do have Hotel Dusk/Ghost Trick/The first Layton game but haven't gotten very far in any of them :sadshoe: . It's a shame Trauma Center isn't mentioned or I could have submitted that fangame I was planning :chinami: ... I need help with the GFX and voice clips though

In the contest, you are allowed to submit your Trauma Center cross over... it's just, it must also have at least two of Hotel Dusk, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton and Ghost Trick. And those franchises would be preferably not tacked on.

Hålt to everything right now!
Just trying to see have I got the rules right.

In the rules/recuirements section it says "The object of this contest is to create a piece of fanwork that features and crosses over two or more of the included franchises"
Sooo...Does it mean that (fe.):
A) Work is acceptable if it's a combination of AA & HD (or more, but two at minimum)
B) Work is acceptable if it's a combination of AA, HD & GT (or more, but three at minimum)
If I've got it right it's the A), but please correct me while there's still time.

The Trauma Center thing gave birth to small suspicion of my own undesertanding,
but I understood it that it needs to have something from Layton & GT (fe.) since it wasn't listed as franchise.
Like...I'f I'd do a work with 999 style adding something from Radiant Historia and Trauma Center into it, I'd still needed to add something from AA and HD, for example.
...pweeeeease say I got it right? I don't wanna end too confused... :3

I think you're correct, Zin. The way I understand it is that it has to have at least just two of the following - Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Hotel Dusk and Ghost Trick rather than AA and another two.

So the minimum you can have is AA & PL, AA & HD, AA & GT, PL & HD, PL & GT or HD & GT.

Indeed. The contest is two of the listed franchises minimum (Ace Attorney, Hotel Dusk, Ghost Trick, Professor Layton). Anything added to that is the artist's discretion. You're allowed to grab franchises not listed, in so far as two of Ace Attorney, Hotel Dusk, Ghost Trick, and Professor Layton are involved. (And we'd prefer that if you do select franchises not listed, that the four we keep mentioning are not tacked on)
