Quick on the draw as ever, hoso_boso reports that this week's Famitsu features a new Dual Destinies article, discussing case three. Hopefully, images will crop up sooner rather than later, but here's the gist of it:

Spoiler: Case three
Case three is titled "Turnabout Academy" and set at the privately-owned Themis Law School, where Juniper serves as president of the school council. At least part of the case features Apollo going up against Klavier in court, who is voiced by Toshiyuki Kusuda, who voiced him in the GS4 promos.

(Thanks to JapaneseGIRL for correcting my reading of the school's name - it comes from Themis, a Greek titaness of law and order.)

Spoiler:
So we're up to four prosecutors now, huh? Awesome. I was hoping we would be able to face Klavier again, I felt he didn't get enough development in AJ.

Now all we need is a certain Fräulein Detective assisting him...

My two cents:

Spoiler: Everything we've seen so far
No way in hell are cases 2 and 3 not flashbacks now. Case 1 apparently takes place half a year after Athena joins, case 2 has the judge asking Athena who she is (and Phoenix sans badge), case 3 has Juniper around during one of Apollo's trials... looks like we're in for some AAI-style chronology here.

Spoiler:
If the cases are occurring in reverse chronological order, then maybe the reason the Jurist system is absent in the demo is because the game is going backwards, up until the system's ultimate demise in Case 5?

While we're at it-- what if there are two stories going on simultaneously-- one series of cases going backwards, and another series going forwards until they meet up in Case 5, hence the game's title? Like the film Memento, if you've ever seen that.

While I am very happy that Klavier will be back, I'm really hoping that DD is going to feature 5 or 6 cases because it doesn't seem like Simon is getting the same amount of development time the other prosecutors did.

I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Speaking of the case name, what is the case name for Case 2? I find it odd that the third case already has a name but the second one doesn't for what I know.

It's a little tough to translate, but I've heard it suggested as "Turnabout Pandemonium".

...Anyway, case 3 just got put up on the main site. And it is gorgeous!

Where did you see this part? I can't seem to find any screenshots or info about that particular element.

Speculation: Someone wants to pin the crime on Juniper during case 1, because he/she thinks Juniper was wrongly declared innocent in case 3. Pretty baseless, of course, maybe Juniper is just plain unlucky.

Well, there are (most likely) two more cases Simon could star in and it's not like he definitely won't appear in case 3.

That's about as simple as I can get case 2 to sound like without detracting too much. I wouldn't be surprised if US Cap decides a different name, though.

And you are right. Case 3 page is so fabulously gorgeous. Give me a moment to take a few notes.

Edit:
Shinobu gets a new design that makes her look cuter. She's taking a class on judges and hopes to become a judge herself one day. She even acts more resolutely in this case, being president of the student council and all.

...And she gets arrested on charges of murder of Masayo Michiba(?). If this is a flashback case, then this will be her first time, I suppose. It looks like Kokone has some playable time during this case; she even has the blue thought text. (I hope that man dressed like a Greek God is a professor/teacher who dresses like that on a daily basis. It's too awesome to be otherwise.)

There's supposedly a clue from that news article... Something about a profession of love and a love triangle involving Shinobu and those other two faces on there. There's also a new character called Atsume Uwasa who appears in a cardboard box. He's the kind of guy who gets info everywhere by sneaking around... and is a member of the student council as well. (His name can be 'translated' as "gathering rumor".)

Kokone: "Practice Mock Trial is in session!"

Yes, Apollo and Klavier are holding a mock trial, and Athena looks like she's the defendant... or something.

I really want a Dangan Ronpa reference in this case. At least let there be Monokuma plushies!

Then again, the second and third cases seem to not have any relation to each other... as of yet.

...Now I want a case to involve 呪殺 (death by curse).

Do we know for sure that Klavier is actually the main prosecutor? He could just participate in the mock trial, but then Simon could take over for the real trial.

Wow, so there's 4 prosecutors now?

This means that Simon could end up with only one case, unless there are more than 4 cases. Ok, so I think it has been stated that it will have a round about as much content as TAT, which had 3 long cases, and two short cases. If they want to feasibly do this, and develop Simon as the main prosecutor then what I would assume is that there are more than 4 cases, but some won't be 2-3 days for each. I'd expect that we'll get 6 or 7 cases overall, and the first will obviously just be a trial, and then we may get something like two 1 day trials with an investigation, and a trial, the rest will be 2 days. That would probably make sense to me.

I'm thinking Klavier is only around for the third case, and that they're doing a mock trial since it's at a different location. After or during the mock trial we get an actual case that occurs, where Apollo and Simon face off in actual court. Three main prosecutors (not including Payne) is a bit much if the game only has 5 cases, especially when they introduce a new prosecutor who often gets 3-4 cases per game. Edgeworth is probably prosecuting the final case.

I don't know...

Spoiler:
If the dead woman found in the courtroom explosion was murdered instead of being killed by the courtroom debris, then it could warrant an investigation and another trial day. After all, there's no case in Ace Attorney where someone isn't killed.

Spoiler:
It suppose it's possible that while Simon may not be the main prosecutor, he could still be the main antagonist without constantly being the prosecutor. It's very possible that he could be playing the 'Kristoph Gavin' role and somehow be behind the events of the game (such as the courtroom bombing) from prison. Blackquill seems to be very manipulative (as it's said that he manipulates the new detective), so it's very possible that why he may not have a lot of time being prosecutor, he will still have a large role in the game. Perhaps he's attempting to drive a wedge between Phoenix and Apollo (think about the argument they were having in the most recent Japanese trailer) by manipulating Apollo somehow. Just my two cents.

You do realize that T&T also featured 4 prosecutors and Godot still had enough time in the spot light? :yuusaku:
