The game has been rated "PG" (Parental Guidance) for "Mild Themes", and "Mild Violence"

I just hope they don't censor too much of the game, and what would be the ESRB and PEGI equivalent to this?

Australia only rated it 3 days ago, so I'm not sure if other countries have. I'll have a look on their websites.

No, I mean what would the PG rating be similar to in Europe and the US?
PG=T=12?

I'm guessing it's Teen, although it's possible it could be E10+ as well. The Australian ratings are a little different than the ESRB or the CERO.

For the record, the ESRB has not given it a rating, which makes sense since it's not being released in North America until later next year. It might show up on European ratings boards now or soon though.

E10+ to Teen would be a good guess for the ESRB's rating. Unless they decide to go crazy and make it M... Which wouldn't make any sense at all. xP

Well, Dual Destinies was ESRB "M" , but "PG" in Aus, just like PLvsAA (Same notes about mild violence as well) So it could be "T" or even "M" (Unlikely though). I think "PG" would be PEGI 7.
This is how our rating system works:
Spoiler: Ratings and their descriptions
G: General (All Ages)
PG: Parental Guidance (Recommended for people age 10 up, but with parental supervision under 10)
M: Mature (Recommended 15+)
MA: Mature Audiences (Must be 15+)
R: Restricted (Must be 18+)

I guess the equivalents are:
ERSB:
G = E
PG = E10+
M = T
MA = M
R = AO

PEGI:
G = PEGI 3
PG = PEGI 7
M = PEGI 12/PEGI 16
MA = PEGI 16
R = PEGI 18
EDIT: I looked up dual destinies, and apparently there's very mild sex in the game (Nice categories they have :will: )

Just for reference, when did the last Layton game get its first age rating compared to when it was released? I'm hoping this can indicate how many months away PLvPWAA is in Europe and Australia.

Well, they must have toned down the AA side, seeing as it has never gotten a rating lower then "T".

Ohhh, wait. Level 5 made this game. They must not know how to make a "T" Layton game.

My guess would be T but E10 is certainly possible. There is no way this game gets an M from what I know about it.

Ok, so here's the classification board's page for Prof. Layton and the Azran Legacy: here. They rated it on 7 August, and it was here 9 November.

As further reference, here is the board's page for Dual Destinies, which was rated on 18 July and was released here on 24 October.

So based on those two games, I'd say PLvsPWAA should be released here in 3 months time, roughly, which...omg yaaay!! :ron-jazz: :gant-clap2: :jazzedgy:

Well, they said "Early 2014" for Europe, so the first quarter always seemed reasonable.

Now the question is when it will be released in the U.S. I'm guessing late 2014, although I'm hoping for a summer release.

If you take into consideration that it seems the entire Level-5 release schedule is postponed around 3 months in US compared to EU (Prof. Layton: Azran is nov 13th here, and feb 28 in US) It's likely you'll get a summer release.

I'm taking into account that most game developers takes about 6 months to a year to develop (or in this case, localize) a game. (Remember the Deadpool game?)

Also, who do you think will voice Maya? Thinking Wendy Lee, but that might be overkill.

I'm thinking a summer release too.

I know summer is considered a "bad" time to release big games, but I would imagine the slow gaming season wouldn't have an effect on people buying Layton.

Each time I finish a case in DD, I get more and more anxious for PLvsAA, because I know at the end of DD I'm going to want a lot more AA.

I really, really hope not. I'd like Danielle Judovits (Sumia in Fire Emblem: Awakening; Tenten in Naruto), Stephanie Sheh (Orihime in Bleach, Tharja/Kjelle in Fire Emblem: Awakening) or Laura Bailey (Rise in Persona 4, Tohru in Fruits Basket + a billion other things) as my first choices, but there are so, so many great female voice actors apart from Wendee Lee who could do this.

Whoever plays her, it'll be so awesome to hear her speak for the first time! :will:
