Capcom has released a full launch trailer for DGS, bringing with it plenty of animation, footage, and even a tease of episode five! Check it out here; subs will be added the video, but for now, just soak in the gorgeous animation!

The game releases in Japan on July 9th. Just over a week to go...!

Update: First, rough pass on the subs has been added (turn on annotations).

Also announced today: details of the DLC for the game.

The DLC is not full trials like AA5's. Instead, it's a series of "issues" of Randst Magazine (first one is free for early buyers, next eight are 300 yen released weekly.) Each issue can contain some combination of things like a short episode (think PLvsPW's DLC), music from the game (including early versions and unused tracks), voice clips (including unused lines), concept art and commentary, making-of videos, and 3DS themes.

Oh niiiiice! It interesting that they showed 5 of the cases though, I'm getting pretty convinced now that there are going to be more than 5 in the game now.

Indeed, it looks like there will be probably even more than 6 cases. I wonder what the case structure looks like, if all of them are shorter than normal AA cases or if the later ones get pretty meaty as usual.
Good thing they only showed us the name of the fifth case, so we don't really know anything.

Btw. the trailer on BoltStorm's YT-channel has more views than on the official Japanese Capcom channel. But I guess the Japanese fans probably watch these trailers on NicoNico anyway.

Having been uploading AA trailers for a while now: really what decides it is whose link makes it out to the greater web first. If Capcom's does, they'll have more views than me, period. If mine does, then things tend to be more even, though Capcom's official one usually still leads.

Hits are just numbers, but it's interesting seeing how much effect the English-speaking web has on view counts. (Cough cough, Capcom.)

Anyway, a first pass of subs has been added, along with details on the DLC for the game that were announced today.

The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro...? Unless the cat's name is Kokoro, I don't see how they came up with this title.

Interesting to see Holmes' (or Iris'?) inventions at work. So his pistol seems to have an infrared light, among other things.

Edit: Oh, the DLC episodes look fantastic. Poor Ryu is out of the loop as usual. Unfortunately, I might be out of the loop as well for the later episodes. I can understand paying extra for them, but it's not practical for me to buy them myself...

About the idea the game has more than five cases - all the Japanese news sites (Gamer.ne, 4Gamer, etc.) are reporting on the trailer now, and they're all saying it "introduces each episode, starting from episode 1" "(第1話からの各話をダイジェストで紹介した内容となる"). 各 can mean each or all, so while there's still a chance the game has six or more episodes, it sounds to me like these five might be it. Anyone have better experience with 各's common use?

Here, I'd say it's saying "each" rather than "all". There's nothing in particular suggesting the latter meaning here.

Well even if it is only 5, it's sticking with the staple, so it's all good! I would love more cases.

Also, I'm leaving this here. Probably the most memorable part of the trailer (plus Kazuma being a "bosom buddy")

It's a different Natsume Souseki reference. His two most famous novels are Kokoro and Wagahai wa Neko de aru.

各's base meaning is always each or one by one; even if you use the English word 'all', it should be based of 'each' ('each one of you' -> 'all of you'). 各々(おのおの) has the same meaning, so something like ひとり、ひとり or ひとつ、ひとつ. So here it says it "introduces each episode (one by one), starting from episode 1". If the intention was to say 'all', it would have said 全話.

Also, Bolt: I think subs for Barok’s line aren't quite there. He's saying along the lines of "That courage you cling to is but an illusion, merely the signs of a mad struggle."

Other than that, I think the rest is fine.

Thanks for the corrections, you two - it's a bit late where I am. :yogi: (And you both outclass me when it comes to Japanese to begin with, haha.)
