If we are to rectify this problem, we will need to convince both Capcom Europe and NoE that a 16+ rating is acceptable for this title and it will still sell. NoE appear to be under the mistaken impression that adults would have no interest in playing the Ace Attorney series, and we know this is entirely false.
Let's not let it end here, guys.
EDIT by Croik - As pointed out later in this thread, you can see the T&T page is still hiding on Nintendo's site. Links to it, however, seem to have disappeared. If there's still a chance we can save T&T for Europe, let Capcom and Nintendo UK know how you feel!

If I remember correctly, either Lost or Sven at Capcom USA's board said that the staff on the boards there know about as much that goes on at Capcom Europe as the General Users do.
How this should effect your flight plan, I'm not sure.

Another 16+ thing you could use is that Godot says "hell" every five seconds, though it's not exactly 16+ worthy...

Just like Velo said, I would have also said Quebec. However, I didn't mean he should be French speaking. They could have made him Italian, Swedish, Polish, German etc etc (although it would have made the character worse).
Godot used "Hell" to indicate a place. Hell is not considered a bad word, because it's a name (there are even real places called Hell in the world), while "hell" is found offensive. If Godot really said "hell" and not "Hell", they could have changed it and should have avoided all the problems. This is of course just logic speaking as I don't know what kind of people those people working for the PEGI are.

People will buy it, no matter what the rating assuming they enjoy the series..
Hell, You could even be idiotic and make it an 18 for no reason and it would still sell well.

The 16 age limit thing is stupid.
However, T&T should still be released, as people (who haven't lost faith and imported) want to know how Phoenix and Mia's paths cross etc. Poeple may even be eagerly awaiting

And

As to the whole Jean Armstrong thing... I am French and I really didn't mind him. But then again, I got to play the game in English. Armstrong provides much comical relief and that's fine, he's so over the top it becomes funny. However, I suspect that he's not entirely legit. My impression of him, and maybe I missed certain details because I was slightly busy drooling over the good
, was that he was trying too hard to pass as this great wannabe French chef. He obviously desperately wants his dingy little place to be chic as it were. Which again makes his failed attempts amusing.I could very well see how a lot of this would go straight to the bin when translated into French though. What's so entertaining about a French chef speaking French? It turns out to be a bit difficult plotwise but hardly controversial.
On a different note, I have been very pleased to see that all of the French words used in GS have always been spelled correctly.
Sure, T&T is a bit rougher that the two previous games. But I fail to see how that could be a problem in Europe. And the fact that it ties up the Phoenix Wright era is also a valid reason for it to be released. And then there's Godot too of course!
All in all, not releasing it would be ridiculous.

I double-checked this a couple of months ago - it's not true, however the blood spray is extremely brief - blink and you'll miss it. This is the UK/French version however. There are two EU versions, and the German version is probably censored.
German laws governing violence in videogames are on the verge of draconian (why that is should be obvious if you know your history). Because many EU business headquarters are based in Germany, this can cause complications. In the vast majority of censorship situations, however, the editted material is limited to Germany alone, and is not present in versions released in other EU countries. There are exceptions, such as No More Heroes.
The key is this: any blood shown in videogames must be removed or heavily disguised before Germany will accept the title for release within their borders, especially when people are bleeding. Occassionally games have been released in the EU generally but banned in Germany. It is likely a reasonably strong influence on this decision, but it isn't a guarantee that plans to release T&T in the EU have been permanently abandoned. However, chances are a release in Germany is out of the question, unfortunately.
Examples of the offending material:
Whether this is indeed a reason for the game's withdrawl or not depends on what the German versions of AA1 and AA2 were like. Our German members may be able to help more there. :)

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - 7+
Phoenix Wright Justice For All - 12+

I still don't understand why the first game in Europe got rated suitable for children. Well done Europe!
The other got rated a 12+ (same as 'T') which makes sense. But now T&T is not acceptable for a 12+ rating but the American version can happy be rated a 'T'? What a load of bull ass raping monkey dick shit crap rule!
It doesn't need to be a 16+ rating. It's not that you see heads being cut off, the chef raping Maya or Godot sucking Mia's tits or anything very rude like that. Okay there are few more serious things that happen that don't in the other games but nothing major to boost the PEGI rating.

I'm really surprised that T&T should have a 16+. Tired of waiting I buy it and played it through. It's true that T&T is rather more disturbing that JFA or AA
Oh yeah, Armstrong is VERY gay. I'm French, and I didn't find the cliché very funny actually, but I didn't mind that much. (And it's supposed to be Très Bien ! Not Trés Bien !)
But in fact, it's not the fact that Armstrong is gay that disturbed me, it's more :
Even so, 16+ for T&T is for me a bit WTF. Censhorship in Europe really sucks !
