Wow, that's awesome! I really liked the first even though I got a little freaked out when I saw that the main character had the same name and birthday as me! :apollo-shock:

I KNEW IT! I thought it was strange when Ashley's birthday was the same as mine... lol :edgy: I didn't realize they could do that since the memory rests in the game cartridge not the DS system... :yuusaku:

I found an English Review of the game. Though, I'd take this guy's ramblings with a grain of salt. Who heard of deducting points for dialog in an adventure title?

Interesting review, if not a tad bit negative

You shouldn't get people who don't like too much dialogue to review video games that are marketed at being similar to novels.

Post subject:  Re: Trace Memory 2: R, Gateway of Memory

Lol, I know. I remember when I first read reviews for Hotel Dusk, almost every one said that there was too much dialogue and that it slowed down the story.
I bought it and didn't even notice that there was too much dialogue. I was so engrossed. Funny thing was that my bro complained about that too (well, in all honesty, it was because he was annoyed that the story kept repeating things. Like instead of having Kyle, when he'd talk to his boss, have time passed where he explained everything, they explained everything lol, but I needed that sooo)

So, I think I'm going to be fine with this, lol. My only issue is that I would prefer if the game was in a portable system, since playing a novel-like game on a big screen tv where everyone can see me is not my favorite method, lol.

Yeah... but the awesome graphics and stuff make up for it :3

It annoys me how the guy complains about no voice acting but too much dialogue. You'd think he wouldn't want voice acting, so he could scroll through everything quickly without waiting for the voices to catch up.

I hate it when reviewers take off points for too much dialogue in adventure games and stuff. I mean, it's supposed to have a lot of dialogue! Yes, it's different from an action game, and if you want a ton of action you probably won't like it, but that's not a reason to take points off it! If you take points off for there being too much dialogue, then you're not rating it as an adventure game =\ (I mean, yes, I suppose there's a point where it would go overboard. But I haven't seen that yet! I mean, Phoenix Wright is listed as a graphic novel. What, should we make a SparkNotes of it?) [/rant]

I just saw an advert for the game on TV. My jaw is still on the floor. Has it been a short gap between releases or have I just been off the internet too long?

Do you mean between the original and the sequel?
Well let's see, Trace Memory came out in 05...and it's now 2009...yeah, you've just been out the loop.

No, not that. The release date between Japan/America/ and England. Normally we have to wait for a few months (even a year) for a game that's just been released. And I thought that would be the case since Another Code wasn't considered that popular compared to other mystery games. If it were, we'd have the darn sprites easy to access.

I got the game on friday.

Its a great game. Fairly easy puzzles but the story is great. Ashley has the same personality too. The game is definatley longer than the first. Im not finished the game yet but im nearly done it. Just to let some people know that the game has no voice overs so just in case you thought ashley would be speaking with english accent all the time.

*stupid question alert* Sorry that i have to ask this, but is this game officially going to be out in the U.S.? I thought I read somewhere that we still weren't sure. If that's the case, where's the info about release dates? Sorry!

And I'm glad that it's good! I'm thinking of just renting it since I don't play on the Wii that often, but if it has really really good replay features, I may change my mind....

It shows an arrow pointing up ^ with a square in the middle, T I 8 then 12 (The 1 is on top of the 2). The T and I are 1 1 (I was pressing random buttons), but I don't know about the 8. I'M LOSING MY SANITY HERE!!!

Nintendo recently released it's Quarterly report, and Trace is still missing from the release schedule.

If this keeps up, I Might actually have to import from Europe.

... But later. I just spent $1675 dollars on classes for the fall. My bank is broke.

Question:
Spoiler: Trace Memory... but not really
Does D appear/get referenced at all in TM2? Also, is there any references to Hotel Dusk (like Angel Opening a Door, as someone suggested earlier)?

No details, please; just "yes" or "no".
