I thinking the other night, wouldn't be cool if there was some sort of timed event in AA? e.g there could be case where you have to do some hostage negotiation and you have ten mintues or so to do it in? I don't know, but I was thinking that it would be a good idea. Plus with the DS's internal clock it could be possible. :phoenix:

That would be... wait... let me list the things you can do first.
Hostage: Not so good. Move to place. Shout "O noez u needz 2 liek stop!!!!11!" into the Mic. End.
Time bomb: Might be cooler. Move to place. Rearrange and cut the wires(Zomg more touch screen use). end
Get to court on time o noez: Move to Court. End.

So not so great.

Phoenix/Apollo... Time Bomb specialist? =P

Nah, it can't be limited to them, but that's a life-threatening experience... Kinda like, that Trauma Center feel. =P

It would be interesting, it would pressure the player into making logical decisions fast.

A timed testimony would rock, in 2-4, when you stall for time with Gumshoe, it could be something like that, you only have so much time to find a contradiction

Yeah.

YoungWright, I imagine it would go deeper. Not just "move to X", but make logical decisions fast. It's better than "Save" "Wrong Evidence" "Restart" "Wrong Evidence" "Restart" etc. in the court sections or "check everywhere present anything" in Investigations through the whole game.

I'd find it too stressful. I like being able to take my time.

No. Not everyone are that fast to read, come up with stuff and do stuff. I, myself, am a slow reader. When we have had to read something in the class room, everyone are ready when I'm not even close to the end. >_<

I wouldn't mind a few time limits. As long as they were reasonable.

Yeah, time limits would make the game move a bit quicker, and might give a slight sense of urgency like Trauma Center.

However, it would make testimonies annoying because I can't always find the contradiction right away...

*Hotline of Fate begins playing*
Or like you only have like 5 minutes to interrogate someone and if you ask the wrong questions they leave. And if you don't ask the right questions fast enough they leave.
....
Or maybe the time paradoxs that apppeare thoroughout the series will be gotten rid of (example: In 1-5 they say it takes 3o min. to go from the Police Dep. to the Prosecutor's office, but you can go between the 2 infinitly during the investagation phase) like if you move around too much or spend too much time goofing off, the investagation phase will automaticly end and you'll go into court unprepared.

Therefore making the game unwinable. :wellington-crazy:

If that's the case, then I prefer how it is currently done, thank you.

Agreed. With features like that, AA won't be AA anymore. AA's are reflexion games; if, for example, you cross-examine a witness and you only have five minutes, that will press you, and, if you loose, irritate you. Time for thinking is important in reflexion games. So the speed definitely not suit the AA serie, for me.

Plus, there can always be a substitute. Like in the end of the stolen turnabout: if you make a mistake by cross-examinating Atmey, you loose. Now THAT'S pressure, but in this case, you have all the time you want. However, in the game, one shot is quite short, so except if you take 7521561*10^99 min to think about it, I believe that's a suitable substitute. :keiko:

I think timed event should have their place in PP, since this game seems to be semi-reflexion and semi-adventure game. :gant:

Well I think that it could be done but it would almost lose the feeling I mean with AA you can just stop and think about things. Also if you lost (ran out of time or whatever) you would probably have to start at the begging of the testimony, puzzle, (BOMB?!) and have to redo it much like the other games where if you run out of health you have to restart where last saved. In the end you would probably just save before the timing thing happens think for the time limit turn off your DS maybe think for a bit more then once you get it what you are supposed to present(?) turn off your DS again and just present, object (or whatever it is you need to do).

Also let me state that this isn't an action game so it would be unlikely that you would do much quick paced stuff like defusing bombs. You would probably just have to think quickly but in that case it would almost defeat the purpose as you can just shut the game off.

I think if done correctly it might work well but careful thought would have to go into it for sure.
