But an attempted murder where the victim ended up in the hospital instead of the morgue might be interesting. Especially if the person woke up out of a coma or something for the second day of investigation and gave you entirely different testimony.

The PW games deal with murder, sure, but they often do so in a humorous and lighthearted way. You just can't do that with some topics. They're not going to include a rape sideplot any more than they are a serial baby-killer or serious race issues or several other things. They haven't even done a really gruesome murder--it's mostly instant death by gunshot or blow to the head. Some things just don't jive with the series.

Which can only mean one thing... *Bench slam* The real murder weapon was not a knife but, in fact, a gun! A... ...gun...? Correct. Which leads me to my next conclusion. *Bench slam and close-up* The real murderer was not the defendant but, in fact, someone else! NOOOOOOOOOO!!*Courtroom buzz. Gavel slams thrice*
Order! Order!! So, what you're saying is... The real criminal was clearly the owner of a small handgun. He shot the victim in the chest several times. Then to cover up his crime he used a small knife that belonged to the defendant and stabbed him once in each area where a bullet hit the body. All so that my client would take the blame! But... but that means... *Close-up* The we've been led astray from the very beginning!! *Close-up* That is exactly what the situation is telling us. If the killer was not my client... then who was it?Or, something along those lines. It could be interesting. The criminal would have to be very careful, meticulous, and cautious because they would have to fool the police department into believing that there was only one possibly murder weapon.

Or, maybe a criminal who fabricated the evidence so that it would look like someone was trying to implicate him.
i.e.
Said criminal shoots a person and fabricates the crime scene to make it look like someone set him up to take the fall.
Something along those lines. It would be incredibly risky, though... but savage no less.

No. There's no way anyone could believe that being stabbed in the right chest warrants a guaranteed kill. Severe injury, yes. But, not enough to cause death. The blood loss wasn't even that severe. All she did was stick a knife into his chest, not thrust it in like some crazed murderer.
And, I forgot about 1-3 and 1-5. So, I guess it would be a bit pointless. But, they did in 1-3 and repeated it in 1-5. So, who's to say that it can't be done in the next game?

there are several witnesses...
however,
all these witnesses killed each of the victims separately.
a la ~ Several people guilty plotting against your client to try and take the blame off themselves.
Defendant = not guilty.

expanding on an earlier idea.
Shelly deKiller is on trial as defendant! (In his alter ego John Doe)
Observe...
Shellys succesor is an unhonorable assasin,
when Mr De Killer retired from the "De Killing" jobs,
The succesor kills someone, and being an excellent assasin, attempts to frame his predecessor!
Shelly (now John Doe) is arrested,
and Odoroki takes his case...
During a court recess... Nick shows up
recognises De Killer from 2-4 (those stiches...)
but, Nick covers DeKiller up from Odoroki...
Ultimately,
in the end,
John Doe admits to previous crimes.... which, then causes his succesor to go to prison.
Thus making Odorokis client innocent, yet guilty of previous crimes!
(of which he goes on trial for)

The victim attacks and attempts to kill the witness. The witness knocks out the victim and runs from the scene, but the killer is still alive but knocked out. The witness runs to the defendant and explains what happened, the defendant says "I'll take care of it" and runs off. Then the victim gets up and is killed by the true killer, killer runs off and defendant runs into room and stand over dead body, then witness runs in, sees dead body on the floor and calls the police.
During the case Odoroki/Phoenix would discover that the victim was the real bad person, and that the true killer saw the attempted murder though another room and took out the true killer for some reason I have not thought of yet. True killer also has grudge against defendant which is why a small video is found from a security camera of the defendant standing over the victim but nothing else (true killer has an Oldbag type job and controls the cameras).
Sounds a bit complicated <.<
