*sigh* We all know that the creators will introduce a GS5 with Phoenix and Maya suddenly is incriminated as the murderer. The Feys will be brought back and Morgan will rise from jail in some elaborate plot to finally defeat the wretched Maya. I'm hoping Apollo is the main protagonist though...

Yep, I'm pessimistic. Everyone comments on it but judging from all the GS5 guesses, fanfictions and replies to the threads on Capcom's website, there's no doubt that this will happen.

What do the replies on Capcom's site say? Something more constructive than "Apollo Sux, bring back Nick" one hopes. Getting rid of Apollo after 1 (half?) game is stupid. It'd be like making AA1 with Nick and then JFA with a brand new character.
But like I said before, I say this as a fan of Nick & Apollo as characters. Apollo's story still has lots of gaps and potential left. FACT.

More reason to keep Maya out of it, she'd never be able to take a Mia role, she's not mature enough for that.
Besides Maya being there would require more interaction with Nick and we'd have the problem where we'd have AJ1 starring Phoenix Wright again.

Very well is the answer, Pearls would probably want a place in the magic show where she would summon a spirit to possess her as one of the tricks, probably Mia as she's used to it and Mia could get in on the act (as opposed to some random ghost who could do whatever). However much like the disease model of addiction I'm suggesting total abstinence from any form of Fey Activity.

That was GS1-3!Maya. She could easily grow a mature side after 8 years, especially after being Master for a while.
If Phoenix is completely out of the picture when Maya is around, then no, we don't have that. As long as Maya is important to the case itself, and not just there for the sake of being there, then the game won't be stolen from Polly. (For instance, she takes Trucy's place as your assisstant, and eventually uses spirit channeling in the case.)
(Done right, I wouldn't have a problem or Maya or Pearl coming back. But restarting the whole Morgan and Fey feud thing, no...)

She's literally vital for Nick's survival in his house since she supports the 'family' possibly more than he does with her shows.
Also based on how Maya's collection and range of 'Steel samurai' related merchandise has grown massively and how Nick in GS4 timeline refers to her as a 'kid' I still don't think she's grown up that much.
Also to include Maya as an assistant just while Trucy isn't there just to tie her into the story IS purely a fanservice.

1: Maya being the assistant is worse than her not being there at all.
2: If she channelled the victim who said the defendant was guilty that's got definite allusions to a certain case I'm certain they'd mention happened before, Apollo would do research, find out it was none other than Misty Fey Maya's mother from before who did it and got scrutinised and now history faces repeating itself as he can either shame Maya and her clan by proving the defendant not guilty or risk letting a possibly innocent man go to jail or worse to Death Row. Plus this also brings back the Fey clan in general by referring to their history and Misty Fey.
Both seem bad to me I don't see why Maya or any Fey's need to be mentioned at all in AJ2

Even then some critics might mock the fact Apollo's cases are just revamps of past cases and that kinda implies a certain lack of originality in the new AJ era which wouldn't bode well for Apollo.

-Apollo has to defend someone accused of taking 20 people hostage and killing two hostages. But the defendant keeps claiming that he was a hostage even when all the evidence is stacked against him. Of course, Apollo manages to unmask the real killer, who was pretending to be the hostage negotiator.
-Apollo/Phoenix defends someone accused of terrorism. I'm not sure how it would go but it'd be interesting...
-Apollo defends a client who wants to be able to visit her children. But her ex-husband refuses to let the mother visit them since he has custody of the three kids. Apollo succeeds in getting the judge to force the father to grant custody to the mother every once a week. Little did they know it was all just so the son could force the mom to buy DS games for him.

Yes, but there's something not quite right about that. Dahlia was sort of "born" into being evil. Her family was pretty tragic, which caused her to feel the need to steal a very rare diamond from her family to start her own life. She also ended up murdering at least two people (Doug and most likely Valerie, too), but more for her own personal gain/revenge.
Pearl was "born" into evil, but in a very, very naive way. I mean, the only times she's ever done anything bad is when she's been following her mother's orders. Unless her mother came back (which Maya would not allow), Pearl would never have enough influence to do anything that terrible, especially to her idol Maya. She would have to have an extremely strong motive, moreso than becoming the Master, as she's shown no real interest in that.
