Here's a few ideas:
Wright & Justice: Ace Attorneys
Apollo Justice Ace Attorney: Cross Examination
Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Bar Exam
I have a few thoughts on GS5 as well:
-I can see Wright being reinstated as a Lawyer and either sharing cases with Justice or playing "Mia"
-The game will have 5 Cases. It's more of a hunch. That and so far it's bettn 5-4-5-4 so yeah, the next one will have 5 Cases.
-I don't think we should rule Edgeworth completely out yet. if Capcom wanted, they could have one of the cases focused on what Edgeworth was doing during GS4 (like they did for Mia in GS3). Of course, this would mean you play Prosecutor and that would just be AWESOME.
-With the man who ruined Wright's Professional Career finally dealt with, the return of the Feys should be welcomed (see below). It's already hinted he kept them away to protect them.
-Assuming Wright and Justice work together (in some capacity, lol) then that doesn't mean they won't alternate in cases. When you're using Wright then a Fey stands with him. When you're using Justice then Minuki or Wright stands with him.
-In case people are wondering, the firm would remain "Wright & Co" and Justice would be Wright's understudy. Maya works under Wright as well post 1-2 as well so...yeah.
-I touched on this above but a Prosecutor Mode would be interesting. You play as the "bad guy" and get someone proven Guilty, hehe.
-Here's an idea I'd like used in a future game (assuming you have two lawyers to play with, of course): If one Lawyer "fails" in a case, the other can take over. Example: Justice gets held in contempt because his bluff is called out and he loses. He would have to leave the courtroom but the trial would keep going with Wright taking over for him. This would of course, open the door for a branching storyline but I think it would be awesome, as it can happen in real life.
-I'm surprised no one mentioned this: Maybe some interactions between Gumshoe and Ema? Ema was the one connection to what everyone buy me felt was a canon case in the first game (Rise from the Ashes) since it wasn't referenced in GS2 and GS3 (except for maybe EDGEWORTH'S JACKET ONE THE WALL IN HIS OFFICE?). Capcom has yet to really explain 1-5's relevancy to the other games/cases after it.
-Will the Mason System or the old System be used? If the former, I'll assume there is no health bar. Instead, if you make alot of mistakes your defense just loses its credibility.
-Going with the above, maybe there'll be a crooked Juror who knows the Defendant or something, ala GS4. Maybe...
-Does Franziska deserve to return? That's really up to Capcom but I'd welcome her back and with Edgeworth, no doubt.

The problem with this is that you would have no idea when it comes up. Let's say you fail in a trial that has what's outlined above. That's fine and dandy. Now, say you fudge up later in the game. A person's reaction might, "Oh well. I messed up earlier. What's the worst that could happen?"

After a while the game would just lose it's credibility entirely. Pre-set paths seems to be the best way to approach Phoenix Wright; with seldom twists and curveballs.

Really, I'd have preferred if the time jump thing never happened...Phoenix, Gumshoe, and Maya were probably the most lovable characters I've ever seen in a video game. Ditching them, underplaying their roles, or changing their personalities in the least is a crime against video gaming.
Again, this is just a dream...But dammit, I want more adventures with Phoenix, Maya, Gumshoe, Pearls, Adrian, Maggey, Franny, Edgey, Larry, Lotta.....Everyone. ;-;

Yes, though I haven't played Hotel Dusk yet. That's exactly what I'm saying. Something like the unexpected response in 1-2, if you pick the wrong response to the "Do I defend Maya?" question, it is almost Game Over (I thought it was actual Game Over). But in JFA, sometimes only having 1 chance in a trial or you get a game over ups the tension.

Also, a case involving blackmail where the victim of the blackmailer pulls some magical evidence product out of his hat at the eleventh hour - when even Apollo is unable to do anything - and owns the blackmailer into admitting his guilt of murdering someone.
i.e.
-Blackmailer kills a person
-Blackmailee is a close relative of the dead but under the thumb of the blackmailer
-Blackmailee is called in to testify about the murder events
-Blackmailer takes the stand and pulls a trap out of his hat that incriminates someone else; possibly the blackmailee
-At the last minute the blackmailee produces evidence that incriminates the blackmailer as the killer
-Blackmailer has an ultra-hardcore spazz-breakdown that shakes the whole courthouse
-Blackmailer's reign of tyranny is over and everyone lives happily ever after

Case 2- Introduces a new prosecutor, who seems to be a super prosecutor (lol Edgey), but Odo wins at the end.
Case 3- Another case against super prosecutor, Odo wins again and befriends the prosecutor.
Case 4- Super prosecutor's the defendant, and the prosecutor is super prosecutor's rival, and also the mastermind behind the crime. Odo wins, but the real murderer is never apprehended.
Case 5- Super prosecutor is murdered by his rival. After a dramatic case and stuff, Odo beats sp's rival and sends him to prison, not after an awesome spaz out insanity sequence.

Wright & Co. Law Offices are back in full swing. Wright is busy on a case requiring some extensive footwork when Gumshoe shows up, looking for Phoenix's help. Mike Meekins has been killed, and Dick's the prime suspect. Without Phoenix around, Gumshoe is reluctant to trust Apollo, and gives several annoying, "Y'know pal, this is where ol' Wright would check the court record..." type advice. In a turnabout, it's revealed that... Meekins actually died as a result of his own clumsiness. As a twist, it comes out that Prosecutor Payne had arranged for the scene of the crime to be altered to 'get' Gumshoe, in revenge for the numerous losses Payne felt was the result of Gumshoe's incompetence. Gumshoe is acquitted.
- Throwaway lines: Phoenix working with Edgeworth on the case
- References to Maggey

While I don't see any point in killing Meekins, that is probably a very nice idea.
It would also be a prime oppertunity to introduce Felinda Payne... as the main prosecutor.
