Not attached to Meekins dying, it's just that you can cook up a motive for Gumshoe - they did know each other - and he's an already present clumsy character not many people would miss anyway. =p
Felinda Payne would be an awesome pun name, but not sure if we should really get vonKarmafamily2. We already have Feyfamily2.

In all seriousness, poor Gummy did kinda get overshadowed in the games, even though he has been in...uh...all of the games so far and he would be at least 40 years old by GS5. I also wouldn't mind
getting a nice backstory since he was kinda heaved out of the spotlight in his own game.As much as I don't want to admit it--the original Phoenix-arc characters are getting older game-wise, so new blood is needed, because I really don't feel like having Phoenix III (whomever [s]he might be after Odoroki) having to wait around for a venerable Phoenix to trudge down the sidewalk with his walker and oxygen tank...

The president of a a printing press is murdered, along with his aide. The factory's newest worker, investigative photographer Fiona Tograff is accused, and Apollo takes her case.
Defence Attorney:
Prosecutor:
(He's back!)Defendant: Fiona Tograff, an investigative photographer for the Top Scoop Printing Press.
Victims: Donald Rump/Bly Row. Donald is the corpulent head of the company, while Bly is his wimpish aide.
COD: Crushed in machinery, blood loss due to being shot in leg.
Other characters:
Detective Ema SkyeTerra Rance, a creepy girl who is in charge of typing the newspapers.
Lance Drako: the ever-loyal butler of Fiona's brother Pik, and eyewitness.
Pik Tograff. Fiona's seemingly uncaring brother, is very arrogant, very deceitful.

There's only one huge flaw in your idea: Maya's busy being the Master so she has no time to be teaching delinquents their ABCs and 123s. Now, Maya being forced out of being Master and everyone wondering what happened to her as being the backdrop for the whole...now that's a story! Maybe forced out by some kind of coup...
As for returning characters, I just want to see
and 
reappear in the find case as support characters for the game's overarching storyline. Maybe they could help Odoroki and Phoenix break those....Spoiler: 4-4 biggie spiolers. Turn back at once!
and could make return apperances while and 
reappear in GS6.Also, Payne is past his prime. Time for his successor to take the stand and prosecute every case in GS5 with the exception of the final case in which Kyouya makes a triumphant return. Something tells me that they'll be keeping the jury system around for a while longer, though...

Actually, I'd prefer the opposite. I'd like to see Payne's successor prosecute the final case and be the Manfred of the new arc. A legitimately evil prosecutor who will stop at nothing for victory. The complete opposite of poor old Payne.
It'd throw you for a loop. You'd walk into the trial thinking it's easy. Phoenix will be like "Oh, it's prosecutor Payne. Don't sweat it." Which just shows how out of touch he is with recent faces in the courtroom.

Franny would be a good choice since she was hardly ever used. It could be very plausible since she still might hold a grudge against Nick--what better way to lash out at your rival than to take down the one who Nick was helping. And

That's true. I mean AA2 was such a sucky game that it really enhenced AA3. Perhaps it works in a similar way for the second game of the Odorokiarc?

There are a lot of things mentioned in GS4 that don't get entirely resolved. I think it's plenty to work with to give us a case that spans all three games. They had to have considered that, don't you think? Such as...

It would suck to lose the last case of 5 entirely, though. Well, I guess you "lose" 2-4 but they played it in a way that made it not a real loss. I wouldn't want them to do that again in GS5, but maybe end it on a bittersweet note...? They're gonna have to pull out all the stops if they're going to keep people interested enough for GS6.

Think of how you could tie in military, pirates, espionage, rich snobby persons, and sailors. Heh, perhaps a case where someone is killed by a mermaid?
It could go something like this:
case 1 (Landbased): Turnabout Conveyor
Some sailor is killed while loading a cargo ship. Cause of death: Crushed by heavy load. Payne will prove that it was not an accident, and that the defendant had not only opertunity but also motive to commit the murder (as always). Odoroki must prove that his client, the operator of the crane, is innocent.
Reminiscence: None
Special interest: Payne has grown large manly arms. Or something.
case 2 (seabased): Seaworthy Turnabout
Odoroki wins a cruise trip with the famous Queen [whatever] luxery liner. Not long after, a very rich british duke is murdered. Odoroki must prove that the waiter did, in fact, NOT poison his coffee with potasium cyionide. Or something. Anyway, the Judge is there because he's on a cure trip for his bad back. Ema is flown in with a helecopter.
Reminiscence: Another luxery liner is sunk, some years ago. The actual purpetrator in that case is the real killer, who almost sinks the Queen [whatever] as well.
Special interest: From here on out, the court is based ON THE SHIP ITSELF, in a special area at the top of the ship (meaning outside). The new prosecutor is the brisk captain of the vessal, who is going to go all ahoy matey on yo arse.
case 3 (seabased): Turnabout of Arms
While enjoying his cruise on the USS Queen Whatever, the crew hears a report: An aircraft carrier close by has been closed off due to a murder incidence. Ema asks Odoroki to come with her to the carrier in the helecopter. The trial itself is hold on the Queen Whatever. Odoroki will have to prove that his client, a fighter jet pilot, did not shoot down another fighter jet pilot. The real killer should be the general on the ship. Huzzah.
Reminiscence: Some older incident on the ship of crucial importance, where the older brother to the defandant was blown apart in a fetal explosion while inflight.
Special interest: Fighter jets. En masse.
case 4 (seabased): Turnabout Fluids
Traveling along steadily on the Queen Whatever, the terrible news are heard. A murder has been done on a nearby oil rig (at this point, Odoroki will start getting sick of all the interuptions on his holiday). Ema will take Odoroki there in the helicopter. It turns out that the victim was shot, in the good 'ol way. Odorok will have to defend a submarine pirate that on the day came to capture some oily booty. Hillarity ensures.
Reminiscence: Flashbacks to when the oilrig was build. Some important stuff involving submarine pirates.
Special interest: Whatever.
case 5 (seabased): Turnabout to the End
While the Queen Whatever nears the end of her voyage, the captain of the ship, who is also the prosecutor, is (ZOMG) murdered. There are plenty of witnesses, among Odoroki himself?, and it seems that the prosecutor is killed.... by a mermaid! Odoroki must prove an onboard scupa diver innocent.
Reminiscence: Some flashy last-case-stuff.
Special interest: Return of Garyuu. Some flashy last-case-stuff. The real murderer will throw him/herself off the edge of the ship, and drawn. The case has a bad ending, in which Queen whatever burns and drawns. Odoroki will make it out of there on the helicopter. Most other people die in the burning masses :D
Total timespan of the game: 2nd to 5th case is a month or two. The first case happen some time earlier. The game will be called Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney: High Tide (or something similar)

I want to see a case where wither Nick or Odoroki (probably Odo) gets in trouble... and Kyouya--as mentioned above--becomes some Von Karma Guilty-or-Bust psycho and the only person who can defend Odoroki is... uh...
