That's... about all it's missing, gameplay-wise, I reckon. I'm not sure the magatama, as such, should return as that was kinda Phoenix's thing, but a completely new feature that adds a similar added challenge to the investigation phases would be nice.
(And if the next one's on 3DS, let's use the added memory, huh? I'm talking fully animated cutscenes,a nd more of them, and possibly even more speech; only exclamations, though, not full dialogue, natch).

5 cases (if theyre high quality). I'd rather have 4 long, high quality cases than 5 lame ones. IMO) 4-1 was the best tutorial case ever, it felt more like a 4-2 (if that makes sense)?

I went to use the magatama again or something to make investigation phases more interesting. I can see why using the Percieve system would hard, half the time you dont even know what youre looking for.
Those COOL, BADASS BLACK Locks. I want to know more about them. It was probably implied but it seems convenient to say "They were broken in court".
I wonder if any other character will have black locks?
A badass prosecutor. I liked Klavier, but since he was a good prosecutor, he helped you quite a lot.
More background on Apollo/Trucy.
Maybe we'll see more on GS5 at TGS.

Someone who is menicing like von Karma, cold and collected like Edgeworth, enjoys causing physical pain like Franziska, or is similar to the cool cat jazzy Godot. Klavier didn't really come off as a very good rival to me, especially compared to the ones in the past.
And I would love to see some of the minor characters from the past games make a return.

Yes, but AJ didn't feel complete like the PW games. Shure, they left some stuff unexplained, like what Godot is going to do, but the cases themself were really closed.

to be a badass prosecutor, maybe he could be a good prosecutor like Klavier if he is one. That sounds a really interesting idea even though I sorta dont want Nick as a prosecutor.

I'd like to see some cameo appearances from old cast members, but not full time returns. I do wonder what Pearl looks like now, as a high school student. How much power does Maya have now? Maybe even an appearance from Lana if Ema gets a bit stuck? As I say, I don't want them to return full time, but just a quick appearance for old times sake. As long as it isn't Oldbag.
Other things I'd like to see include 3-day cases, 5 cases in the game and Apollo getting hurt. I mean, Nick got slapped by Pearl, whipped by Franziska and scolded by Godot. A little physical abuse is funny (or is that just me?)

Talking of obsessions, I like the idea of Apollo falling for the defendant, or even better, a girl who's actually guilty but maybe she's not a BAAAAD person, she' s sorry for what she did but she still has to go down, I dunno.
Maybe she could be bad if she has a split personality, BUT the first time Apollo sees this is in court, not outside, so when he sees her be nasty, he thinks she's putting it on and doesnt realise what he thinks is her "real" personality (ie sweet) is in fact fake.
OK that didnt make much sense :D Maybe it sounds a bit too much like:

If SCIENCE isn't the main source of abuse then should I suggest MAGIC; as in the Art of Phoenix Wright artbook they were talking about having more magic tricks for Trucy, but her magic ended up manifesting as the Miss. Magical Underwear and Mr. Hat.
