You'd do it like this:
Code:
message("My name is Ema \nSkye. I have sister \ncalled Lana!");
message("I turned 17 years old \nlast March. I enjoy \nscientific stuff.");

Just like BigFish said each message command changes the text of the Message Box. :maya:

There are other message commands that will be explained on the Advanced Message Features tutorial.

Finally completed Court Tutorial 06. Now all next tutos will be FAR easier to make (as they aren't so hard to explain). An example code will be included (since this one is a lot easier with a reference to look at).

:udgy:

Currently Tutorials on the to-do list: :minuki:

Court Tutorials:
07: Using the LifeBar. 1 star difficulty

Investigation Tutorials
01: Configuring a Standard Place. 4 star difficulty (not sure, may be 3)
02: Configuring a Minimal Place. 3 star difficulty

03: Psyche Locks. 2 star difficulty

Customization Tutorials
01: Creating New Character. 2 star difficulty
02: Creating New Backgrounds. 2 star difficulty
03: Creating New Balloons. 2 star difficulty

edit:

Tutorial 07 completed.

"This concludes the Court Room Tutorials."

There is a chance that PWLib may come out in 2/3 days (even if I finish the tutos now, I need to revise them. Helpers!)

Update: Only the Psyche Locks tutorial needed to finish the Investigation Tutorials.

This tuto will use AHLTL (for the Inversion Effect), but won't explain how to MAKE new effects with AHLTL. The Inversion AHLTL code will be provided with pwlib in a file called inversion.hltl

I'm sure he might be able to finish it at Thursday at the latest.

My timezone is GMT -3 (or UTC -3 on this board).

I can finish writing the tutorials today. But there is still need to revise them.

Tutorial 06 was quite nice to make. It didn't ended hard as I expected it would be.

If more people help on the revision, I can finish the release version of the PWLib in a Nutshell earlier (I'll format the pages too and add some tutorial "small intro" like "Difficulty Rating", "Requires", "Reference Script", etc).

Correct typos, check grammar, explain some things better, etc.

And format the text accordingly, too (mostly secondary).

I'm fairly good, as far as grammar goes.
Seldom do I make mistakes and if I do, I just use Firefox/Safari's handy spellchecker.
If you want to contact me on MSN, you can add me through hyrulianherolink@hotmail.com.
Don't have a yahoo or AIM though, just Skype.
And on an unrelated topic, Skype is definitely the way to go.

Help needed for:

Revisers (with some programming knowledge or not) :keiko:
Designers (to help with the text formatting and better design of chapter - tutos - titles) :minuki:

So far seems only that. If someone feels they can help with something else, they are also welcome. :maya: :pearl:

I've looked over the first tutorial and it doesn't look too difficult.
Once myself, Bigfish, and whoever else wants to revise the tutorials, it'll be out. :garyuu:
Shouldn't take too long for KSA to send it to us, but it'll go faster if someone else helps.
And since we haven't made much progress with revising the tutorials, it'd be best if we had at least one day to finish as many as possible.
We're close, but just hold on.

The delays for this are getting pretty ridiculous. Formatting it is hardly much of a priority at all, and it could've been out now.

We all live in different timezones so there's not much that we can all be on at once and be able to do this.
While it may not seem like a priority as the tutorials from what I've seen explain it fairly well, it would require some heavy reading and not everyone wants to spend a lot of time going through these tutorials just to figure out how to work PWLIB.
We need to make the tutorials as short and to the point as possible, so that it's not too long and not too short.
It will probably take another day, if that.
Remember how many times Brawl was delayed? It was delayed twice and we finally got it on March 9th.
What would've happened had they released it earlier? Would it have been as good?
That's my point, we can't say for certain, that projects that look complete are complete.

Formatting includes mainly alignment of the text and presentation of the tutorial titles. I already justified the tutorial texts, so the only really required thing are the presentation of the tutorial titles. (I want to add an info box that would contain the difficulty rating, the requirements and the reference scripts).

The first 10 tutos look huge but they include the example growing code for direct reference (witch explains why they look big).

Revision depends on what you know. If you are a programmer you can help in the contents of the tutorial (explaining some things better). If you're not you can help with typos, grammar and rewording.

I could simply not release PWLib, remember that.

Well, I'm not saying that these tutorials aren't important, because they are. And this looks to be one of the best case-makers out there, and yes you didn't have to do it. The thing is though, there's a large amount of people (like me) who would've played around with the system until they got it to work. That's what I meant by it, I personally would've released it and then got to work on the tutorials, but that's just me.

Also, I was not baiting. I was venting my impatience. XD Besides, it's hard for a moderator to bait since it gets us in trouble from the higher ups.

I have to agree. While the tutorials will be very helpful it'd be nice to be able to get a feel for the maker. I think it might actually help to be able to play with the programing a bit, even if we still have to wait before we can actually know how to make anything.

But that's just the thing: it's been stated time and time again that you can't use the case-maker without the tutorials. It's not like playing around until things work- there's nothing to "play around with." If I told you to make a batch file that opens programs X, Y, and Z, you need a reference, whether it be a tutorial, external help, prior knowledge, etc. You wouldn't know to open a notepad and type

start /d C:\Windows\System32\calc.exe
start /d "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" firefox.exe
start /d "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12" EXCEL.EXE

or whatever it is you'd need to type.

There are zero external pages, and prior knowledge for PWLib (to my understanding) other than these tutorials. How would you know that

find/startfxloop=0 "Oho!.mp3"

ran a sound effect without the tutorial that states that? You wouldn't. (btw, no idea if that starts a sfx, just using it as an example)

Albeit, now that the tutorials have been written, but not revised, I think it would be possible, at least to get underway. And to that extent, I can sympathize with frustrations.

True. One could code all the "background loading"s in his/her game. Assuming that hasn't changed, of course.

PWLib itself is based upon AIGE, so without tutos you couldn't do a thing with PWLib (unless you go and read source code). But I barelly commented about AHLSL. PWLib hides a lot of the AIGE's initial confguration. So all you could play with would be AIGE itself.

To play a sfx (wav or mid only): loadandplaysfx("myfile.wav",0); <-- myfile.way in sounds folder.

One of the good points of AIGE is that you isn't locked up to defined objects (so you don't have, for example, a command for questions, you have to develop it. Same for menus). So you have a larger degree of flexibility to make your own interface.

I really need to make a reference doc on AHLSL's commands. :minuki:

In the book I only explain needed commands, so it helps a lot using PWLib without knowing real AHLSL. :franny:
