NOTE: Here's a little spoiler about Hakuro de Killer. He will use a unique skill called "Tarot". When used, fate decides what happens. Anything from dealing very minor damage to complete and total annihilation.
Here are a list of his Tarot Skills at Tarot Level 1, but that's all you're gonna get for now...
Ace of Rods: Heal one random ally for minor HP.
Ace of Swords: Damage one random enemy for minor HP.
Ace of Coins: Restore a minor amount of MP to one ally.
The Strength: Inflicts "Strong" on one ally, doubling physical attack and defense.
The Magician: Inflicts "Magic" on one ally, doubling Magical Power.
If you have ever used a Tarot deck, you can most likely determine the names of the other "Tarot" skills, but I'll leave their effects omitted until the game's final release. Until then, ciao~!
NOTE: Even at the final Tarot Level, there is that chance that fate will force you to choose "Ace of Rods" to heal for a subpar amount of health or "The Magician" on a character that uses no magic.
Oh, and as an added bonus (because i want Fanart to come quickly), here is the Faceset, charset, and battle charset for this character (though they don't all match completely...):

Just remember not to take it too seriously or you'll give yourself an ulcer while writing the script. For research you can do for the script, I reccommend a single playthrough of any Suikoden. The game mechanics vary from the point, but pay attention to script and storyline and you'll see a good idea of a quality script.
However, the good Suikoden Games are rare and hard to come by, so I recommend Suikosource. It's a Court Records for the Suikoden Series and could help you a lot in the process of a script.

That's a coincidence. I did something similar when I was in school. A few times, in fact. I let my eighth grade english teacher read a basic storyline I wrote for a game a while ago and was quite amazed as my writing skill was above my peers, even through high school (I cannot think properly in classrooms, so I kept failing. However, when writing in solitude, I can usually put out some good stuff.)
Anyway, I can't wait to read the script. However, as this project is a serious matter for you, I won't hold back my criticisms. I won't shout that it sucks, but I will point out flaws, inconsistencies, paradoxes, and anything I feel would harm the script rather than help. As you already accepted my help for the technical, what would be wrong with me helping out with the script as well?
Finally, as I would do with anyone I don't know in real life and vice versa, I give my word that no secrets will be leaked from my lips or my keys and I won't steal the script for myself or someone else until the project has been completed and released. Call it a De Killer's "Bond of Trust".

Also, SPECIAL CHARACTER RELATED ATTACKS! For example, my special attack would be 'Jade Disaster'.

In my vast experience as an RM2K3 user, I can easily say that there will be no such online access for this game as it is impossible. However, if you would like to submit your ideas to WC, feel free to post them here or PM him, unless he wants to pass the buck to me and then I'll oblige.
Now, if you want an online game, go to the BYOND thread later and i am sure they'll have stuff for you to choose from. It's somewhere on the forums...

The group Hurtz(name pending) will be added into the game as little annoying characters who cause trouble.
Also there will be bonus dungeons in the game.
Since I've been working on the story more ive realized its a bit dark and serious, so I'll be adding less serious events such as quests and side stories. Although the demo wont include that, the final copy will! The demo is almost complete. Just hang on a little bit more!

The demo is here, after long awaiting its finally done. There are a few little grammer and periods and stuff here and there but its fine, itll be changed in the final version. Also there are a few little face problems here and there but once again not bad at all. The demo is roughly 30-45 min long, so I hope you enjoy. It took a long time to make and I hope it meets peoples hopes, the full version will be so much better and I promise that! Write any comments and negatives if you want but please leave me a feedback. I need to know if people like it or not.
Now remeber, no custom sprites were used and there will be for almost everybody on the final version.

the arrows are to move,
z key= accept, confirm
x key= cancel, and menu button
theres a part when you get a email and it says press the shift button, actually hold the button for about 2 sec and itll be fine.
there are many other things to know,
Explore the town fully, and talk to everyone, you might actually see your user name! or get good info!
Go into every building, you may find something good.
USe potions early in the game. You'll need it
Level up
save often
and most importantly
Have fun!

So Awesome! Good Job! I gotta sleep though, so I didn't complete the quest yet. But, it's cool how you added most of the CR users as random people walking and calling Rein a newbie, lol.

1. There was more than one instance where your map teleports landed on another teleport so when you wanted to move left or right, you usually teleported back to the map you were last on. Easily repairable, just change the teleport square to the square in front of the line of teleport squares and you'll be fine.
2. The guard troll on the bridge was much more overpowered in comparison to the Orc and, having them being so close together in the process of gameplay, I suggest toning down the HP of the troll by about 50-75 and that should fix it.
3. When you are told initially to "Log Out" in the demo, the text for quitting out of the game is called "Logout", increasing the odds that someone will quit out of the demo instead of that home crystal.
4. I found the setting to be eerily similar to .hack//Infection. The starting town looks like Mac Anu, I kinda got a "Kite" feel for Rein and a "Balmung" feel for Winged Cloud while that version of Wocky reminded me of Sora (still of .hack//, you KH Sora fanboys!). Croik's character reminded me a bit of Helba, and I guess that's it, really, as those are the major characters in the demo apart from Mr. Serrot's cocoa healing 1.5x more than a potion proving that cocoa kicks pharmaceuticals' ass.
I didn't point out typos because those are ungodly easy to repair and they were very few and far between. The game was beyond my initial expectations and I expect to be hearing from you about the work I should get done on it on my end. Also, I was going to ask why I wasn't in the demo, and then I remembered a few things you said along with the fact that there's still a bunch more of the game left. I liked that final touch at the end before the screen faded to black, ending the demo.
WC: Unfortunately, we can't go any farther because this is the end of the demo.
Rein: Do I not hear such a truth!?
I liked it a lot, but nothing is ever perfect, especially on a first attempt and there are always things that one person will miss that another will find and vice-versa.
Anyway, E-Mail me with any work you want me to do. I'll compile the RTP that came with the game to RM2K3 so you don't have to send me RTP files from the game.

Good note on the log out comment, I guess I should be more clear with what I meant about it.
The characters resembling .hack//infection? Wow never thought of it that way. Because Rein had personality, winged cloud was more secretive and a bit better personalty, Croik was straight up concerned. And Wocky was just a bitch pk ( no offense just referring to a pk in general) And I dont see how the first town looked like mac anu. I understand the crystal thing, but after that it was nothing like .hack...
Yeah Your part comes a bit later from where the demo ends...
Im glad I went beyond your excitations! On the final version Things will be better and I wont release the final version in tell everything is as perfect as can be ( typos and little errors and such) And i will email you on a later date. I'll be busy on Sunday, and I have school on the weekdays, so I wont have a lot of time to talk, but I will do my best. ( so people dont worry I usually work on the script and main story during school. The actual development comes usually on wed, Thursday, and sometimes Friday. and mostly on the weekends. And also another goal for this game was so that people would know I am serious about the game, and not leading anyone on. Hope this is great evidence for that.
Keep enjoying the demo. and I'll update this thread as more news towards the game is around. I will reply to most comments left by anyone here so dont worry.
( also how was the music? Did I chose good songs and stuff? i already do plan on removing one song
though...)
