I'm going to attempt to make a Mario parody of PW...

Title: Super Mario Attorneys (Tentative title)
Project Head: Myself.
Current Contributers: Just me.
What I Have:
Scripting: I can do this myself.
Programming: I can do most of this, myself.

What I Need:
Programming: I might need some help.
Backgrounds: Probably the easiest job. Just go look for relevent backgrounds. You most likely don't' need to actually do anything.
Spriting: Obviously, since most, if not all of the characters are new, so they need to be sprited.

Status: Not started, but I've thought a lot about it.

Info: Basically, it's a parody of Phoenix Wright with Mario characters. It's not like...joke kind of parody, but more like a serious one. About half the cases (give or take) will be parodied from Phoenix Wright, and the rest new. (If they don't contribute to the storyline)

Does this mean you're not using a case maker? If not, which are you using? If it's PyWright, I can help; otherwise I can't. (Only one that works on computer)

For backgrounds, do you want something like finding the best GS background to use, or more like taking screenshots of Mario areas and making them background-size? Either way I can help.

Have you bothered trying to use PWLib/AIGE recently? The rendering issue was resolved.
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

I'm using PyWright. I'm not like...an idiot at it, but I'm still kind of new to it.

For the backgrounds, I'll use both of your ideas.

Alright.

Anyway, comparing this game to Mario Mario: Ace Attorney on Newgrounds...

1. Our game has characters that are at least somewhat in character. MM does not.
2. MM has Luigi prosecute all the cases (I think), our game has him only do it once. (I think...I'm not sure)
3. We won't use enlarged Mario & Luigi sprites...

Also, some new characters...

Luna, age 17. Rosalina's younger sister and your assistant.

Nint (Pronounced "Ninty") Age ???

A mysterious prosecutor.

Ah i see..I can see Waluigi as possible prosecutor as well..It's only one case so naturally Luigi is the only prosecutor in that game

So are you redoing the sprites or getting the 3D version? i'm curious.. :eh?:

Waluigi and Wario, most likley, will not be prosecutors. If they are in the game or not is also not confirmed.

We're editing existing PW sprites into Mario characters. At least for the court sprites.

(Sorry for double posting)

Ok. I need someone to to make me some Mario sprite so I can start the game. If not, then I'll cancel it in 10 days...I'm not trying to be mean. It's just that I have an idea that may be better and I might want to start that.

Threatening to cancel if people won't contribute?
This project isnt going anywhere with that attitude.

I think you misunderstood - he was saying that there's two projects he might want to do, and if he can't get the sprites for this one he'll may as well just do the other instead. Maybe not, though - the time limit thing does sound threatening.

Try requesting in the sprite forum, if you get something anywhere it'll be there.

Don't cancel it, just say it is waiting for mario sprites and leave it at that. Then you can always start it up again if mario sprites come in, without losing any respect.

Sounds like a neat project, I hope it works out. But then again, I am all too aware of the getting a better idea and wanting to ditch an old idea. But let me tell you, you will always come up with new ideas. It's better to stick with one project and see it through, and save your better ideas for afterward. If you always abandon a project for the hot new idea you have, you will have trouble ever finishing anything, and also not learn skills you would need to complete the better idea.

It's alright. As always, if there was a project similar to mine already done, I'd like to see it. So thanks, actually.
