Phoenix Wright: Justice For None is a fangame I'm going to be making in PyWright. It's got 4 cases, and they're all set in an alternate universe (more on this later). I've finished basic planning and am writing case 1.

Permanent Members:
BSX - Creator, plot writer, dialogue writer, scripter (unsure about this part yet), Defenselawyer - sprites (well, I'm not too sure if he's permanent, but I'll say he is for now), Tap - coding, advice and co-writing

Plot: I'm unsure but I'd say about 45%. Possibly less. I need to work on some finer details, but I've got a lot planned.
Dialogue: 1% maybe (will be starting ASAP)
Custom Sprites: 0% (will need help)
Backgrounds: 0% (Will need help)
Status: 0% Programmed, but in the planning stages.
Engine: Pywright and possibly AAO

Case 1:
Dialogue: Around 90-98%
Custom Sprites: 0%
Status: 0% Programmed but progress has finally started!

Summary:
In an alternate universe, Manfred von Karma is a defense attorney. Not only that, but he’s Phoenix Wright’s mentor. Naturally, this makes Phoenix feel that he must get all clients an acquittal- no matter what. On the other hand, Mia Fey is a prosecutor and has mentored Edgeworth. Thus, it is the truthful prosecutor versus the tyrant defense in 4 courtroom show downs! This game follows Phoenix’s first four cases.

Cases:
Spoiler: Case 1: The First Turnabout
A retelling of The First Turnabout from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Larry Butz is accused of the murder of his girlfriend, Cindy Stone. Phoenix takes the case, and with the help of his mentor, Manfred von Karma, he plans to find his old school friend innocent.

Spoiler: Case 2: Princess of the Turnabout
After the filming of the last episode of the Steel Samurai, the Evil Magistrate’s body is found impaled on a spear on a fence. On the steps of the producer’s office stands the Pink Princess, Penny Nichols! Phoenix is requested as the lawyer after winning his first case, but will be able to beat the truthful prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth, and the mysterious FBI Agent, Ghost?

Spoiler: Case 3: Turnabout Gold
It’s the winter Olympics, and the bob sleigh race is about to take part when one of the Police Force’s (one of the teams of the race) team members goes missing! Later that night he is found dead in the team’s bob sleigh, and young detective Buddy Faith is accused, due to a large amount of evidence against him. But just who is the murderer, and how will Phoenix prove his client innocent?

Spoiler: Case 4: Karma of a Turnabout
A retelling of one of the most important cases in AA history. Phoenix tackles his toughest case yet as all the evidence goes against his client, and he finally dukes it out with the ultimate truthful prosecutor Mia Fey. I’m trying to give out few details though, as it shall be an interesting last case...

New Features:
There was originally gonna be a new feature called “notes”, but now there are no new features. I probably won’t have psyche locks either, though I might see if I can have them once or twice in case 4.

What I need:
I need a voice actor for the FBI agent. He needs to shout “Freeze!” and “Objection”. He has to have no obvious accents and... Actually, that’s the only specification. I also need an “Objection” for the final boss, who sounds cunning and powerful.

I need music, and the specifications shall be put on a music thread later (as I don’t have much time right now).

Finally, I need a truck load of sprites and backgrounds for case 3. These I’ll specify later as well due to lack of time. I’ll be attempting to sprite the FBI agent, but if any of you want to do it, ask me and I’ll give you a description of him.

Oh, and I might need help coding, as I’ve never done it before in my life.

Cheers for reading if you have. I know this post is a wee bit long, and I apologise.

Kinda messed up the doors :yuusaku:

I can easily edit the doors. That's great. I'll put you on the team, and PM you once I've finalised a few more details that involve the plans.

No, seriously, that's perfect for case 1. Can't wait to use it!

Isn't inconvenient of having the CAPCOM logo on the box?

I think he's saying it's not made by capcom, it's made by you, so it's inconvenient for there logo to be there.

Exactly. Since CAPCOM doesn't own it, it shouldn't have its logo in it.

Right, I'll ask Tap to remove the logo.

To be honest, I never asked him to add it in the first place.

Thanks for pointing it out!

The logo is on because the Ace Attorney series belongs to Capcom, not anyone else. Also, all of the sprites/backgrounds/everything in the original GBA/DS games belong to them, so if you use any of these things, they still belong to Capcom.

Or it could just be explained that it was on the template and I was too lazy to cut it out and replace it with Ceres' logo but yeah... ^^

Thanks!

You're very kind to put so much work into working on stuff for such a small scale game (or at least it is at the moment).

Sorry for the double post but:

UPDATE

Yes, work has finally started! I'm currently writing case 1's dialogue, and I am on page 8 or so. My goal is to finish case 1's by mid-May, though that might be difficult as exams start for me on the 6th. But I'll try and reach my goal.

Oh, and I WILL post that music request thread for the game eventually.

Hm, I can help you with (finding) backgrounds since I know of a few good databases. And I already told you I'll help with coding, advice and co-writing. :)

Now, I have a question. What are the actual differences between your case 1 and PW: AA Case 1 besides that Mia is replaced with von Karma? Are there going to be any extra testimonies? Will the crime be slightly different?

Cheers Tap.

And there will be no extra testimonies, but the crime will be slightly different through one piece of evidence. Maybe. It's hard to explain without spoilers, though you partially know thanks to MSN.

Oh, and UPDATE
Almost everything in the script minus most of Sahwit's lines has been done. I only have to write Sahwit, the reactions and stuff to Sahwit's testimonies, and the post-trial lobby scene, and the script will be done! Huzzah!

My goal is to have the first case out by the end of July at the latest.

Post subject:  Re: Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney: Justice For None (Need Help)

Sorry for the double post but I'm here to say that the game has NOT been cancelled. I've just had VERY little time to work on it.

I'll be on my summer holiday on Thursday, and abroad from then until the 16th of July. What I might do is buy a jotter and write out the rest of the script, and then type it up when I return.

According to Tap, coding is going nicely too, which is good.

EDIT: Back from holiday, so on Sunday I shall be going full throttle to finish the script (because I'm going on a date tomorrow :P). Then, I'll have a month to finish off the coding (with tons of help from the brilliant genius Tap).

So expect case 1 for the end of July!

(And von Karma sprite wise, I'm using the AAI sprite because I have no aide Karma.)

I wish I noticed this earlier. I need a lot of help. I'll sort out the specifics once I finish my script though.

...This script has reminded me why I don't make deadlines. (It's almost finished though!)

(And the full throttle thing was fail. I had changed my deadline to the end of July for the script and then Civ 4 came back into my life. I WILL finish the case by the end of August though! I promise!)

Here's my experience with deadlines:

I don't make them, and things don't get done, I do make them and I'm late. So I just make them and be late :)

Yeah, trying to make a deadline is the best way to get things done, even if you don't make it in the end :)

SUPER MAJOR DUCKING UPDATE
I. HAVE. FINISHED. THE. DUCKING. SCRIPT.

...Plus Tap's almost finished his side of the coding.

Expect the case relatively soon!

Bad news.

My laptop's broken, and I can't get a new one for at least 2 weeks. So this means the game's delayed. Again. Thankfully, Tap should have a back up for the script and the coding so far if the transferred files (yay getting them transferred) don't contain these

Sorry guys.

I always keep a back up, BSX. Don't worry as I've still got it. :)

Ok, so I got my new laptop a couple of weeks ago. But thanks to school, I've had no time to work on the game at all. But it's the October break soon, so I'll work on this then. I hope I can finish it.

Sorry about all the delays.
