UPDATE: Someone has agreed to take over. I'm keeping it online until they do so.

Unfortunately, I've pretty much lost interest in Phoenix Wright, and have done for well over a year now.

While I've kept GyakutenWiki alive for this time (only in terms of paying the costs, I haven't actually done any moderation or updating of the site code), both for the other users and for if I ever regained interest, it's not seeming like it's of any relevance to me anymore so I'm planning to stop supporting it as of the end of September.

If anyone else (preferably Court Records itself, or a well-reputed member) would like to take over, contact me. If not, I'll keep a backup of the data for if anyone does want to at a later date, but as of October, GyakutenWiki will no longer be online.

It's currently hosted on Nearly Free Speech, so if whoever's taking over has (or is willing to make - I would advise them, they're a LOT cheaper than the majority of hosts) an account on there I can transfer the site as-is to them (and give them a SQL dump file for the database), otherwise, I'll provide the files to them and they can reupload on the host of their choice.

I am not particularly interested, as I may soon have a website on my own to support, but I certainly hope someone is.

GyakutenWiki is extremely practical : it's a great place to centralize all information regarding fangames. In fact, I'd say we need it now more than ever, since fangames have really taken off this year.

As someone who only entered this little community recently, to me it makes sense to make it part of Court Records. That way, all the information is truly in one place. It can also bring some of CR's more outdated pages up to speed.

It's completely understandable that you'd stop paying for it now, and thanks for paying for it all this time :)

It is a good place for centralized information, but hopefully someone else will pick it up...

This is terrible news, GW was extremely useful! An accessible database for fangames was and is a very important tool... But it's understandable, Lee.

Still... something must be done about this. In fact... *couple of hours later* would this work?

I don't know how well the community would like the idea of moving it onto a automatic wiki server (however, a generic free host is not so bad). If that turns out to be the conclusive answer, though, then I'm more than happy to assist with moving data over.

Just thought it'd be better than nothing. I'd be glad to take over the actual GyakutenWiki, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to afford it.

Well, the wiki's there, and I'm currently moving as much as I can from GW, so if anybody's interested, do join.

As long as you have some method of payment for it, you should be fine.

Although it's been higher in the past (as the host it's on uses a pay-for-what-you-use model), recently the cost has been about US$10 a month for it and FFXHackers Forums combined. The main reason for discontinuing it now is because I've started up a new site that's incurring much higher costs, due to higher activity.

If it's not too late, I should be able to take over. I don't really have time to take care about the site itself, but I can take care of the hosting : I've got what should be a pretty good hosting space, free for the two years to come, and I have yet to put anything on it. An AA wiki should fit perfectly.
As for supervising everything, I'm pretty sure we could find some people, either here or in the AAO community :-)

The only problem is the domain name, that will be attached to AAO (I don't intend to buy a domain :-P

), but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

So, DeMatador's Turnabout Fangame seems to be the best replacement.

Out of curiosity, I looked at other Wikia wikis about AA fanworks:

http://pywright.wikia.com - it looks decent, but it's all about tutorials for PyWright and I'm not sure if it's OK to write about actual games... and it's of course limited only to PyWright games.

http://phoenixaceattorneyfanon.wikia.com/ - Yeah, the creator even forgot to spell the hero's name wright (pun intended :moe:

). From what I see, it is dedicated to fanfiction and it has only 3 pages.

http://ace-attorney-fanon.wikia.com - Apparently totally abandoned.

Well, if you ask me, things have definitely gone south since Wikia allowed people to start wikis without requesting them. They start a wiki and completely forget about it almost immediately :yogi:

. But there is a good side to it too. It's free.

Turnabout Fangame needs love and an offcial CR thread. I have a good knowledge of wiki markup code and I can help with articles, templates, themes, logo etc. It's a bold request, but If you don't have time to work on this wiki, you can make me an admin (here's a link to my account I've just created: http://turnaboutfangame.wikia.com/wiki/ ... rth_Wiader)
