Current Status: Case 1 preparing for release.

Some of you may remember my fangame which was the first PyWright fangame to come out. Suffice to say that the first release wasn't perfect and was later taken down pending revision. It has taken a long time due to a hectic and busy life however development has picked up again. Case 1 is complete on AAO and will be converted through the AAO converter. This method may be used for the other episodes.

Ptapcc, you can sign in for the PWLib 1.2 Beta if you want. You might be selected as one of the beta testers.

Signed up to it. Hopefully i do get selected for the beta. Pwlib 1.2 sounds brilliant and I think I could combine both engines to make my game the best I could possibly make it.

Thanks :godot:

You can't "combine the engines" and end up with one game. They are two different casemakers.

I'm sure that after you try PWLib 1.2 you'll switch to it.

The AHLSL Core on 1.1 (aige 700a) is pretty old and do not reflect anymore the current status of the engine.

AIGE 800a is a gigantic step compared to AIGE 700a.

I wish i could release 1.2 right now, but I prefer to take the professional path and deliver the best.

People using Mikumo Extension will have a higher chance to be selected for the Beta too (since PWLib core is far more stable then the Mikumo Extension is, so it needs more strong testing).

Maybe I should have explained it better. Basically, i'm in a bit of a stick here. Pywright and pwlib are excellent engines with both having positive and negatives things about them but at the current moment, I'm using pywright as that is what i have started programming on. I'm waiting for the Pwlib 1.2 release as Case 4 of my game will need the Mikumo extension.

So in the end, I might end up creating 4 cases on Pywright then having one on Pwlib or I will just switch to pwlib 1.2 when it comes out.

I hope this makes more sense.

I think you should select one engine (PWLib, since you're going to need Mikumo on case 4) and work on it. I can help you with any problems, as always.

Yeah your right. I'll go with pwlib. No offence to Saluk's pywright but pwlib has exactly what I need and it'd be a hassle to have some cases on pywright then one in pwlib. Shall I put you under programming help then KSA?

Whether you wish to argue or not is definitely not my decision however Comaster, you don't come into another thread,(especially one that is for a fan game by someone not of the PWlib development team) then start to criticize someone. I value the work you've contributed to PWlib so far yet I will not take this kind of behaviour on my thread. I made this explicitly for my fan game Apollo Justice Ace Attorney: Justice's Memoirs not Comaster's thread for Arguing.

On a side note, I've started to program into PWlib. I've had a look at DDRKhat's recreation of Case 1-1, or more specifically the introduction and have attempted to do something similar. I've made some progress so that's good news :godot:.

Thanks Saluk. I was afraid that you'd get angry with me for deserting to PWlib but you've looked at it with an open mind and saw that I came to Pwlib as it was the best engine for me for my cases (or more specifically, the Mikumo extension).

Ah thanks for your compliments. I hope to post some screenshots soon as I have the weekend to programming. Yay :godot:

Thanks for your offer but I should be fine with the story at the moment. I have it planned out and most of Case 1's script wrote out so I'm fine with that. If you offered your services as a sprite artist, well, I'd have a different reply then...

Apollo Justice Ace Attorney: Justice's Memoirs has now slowed down and is on a bit of temporary hold.

To all fans of my upcoming fan game, as I said, AJAA: JA has slowed down and is on a bit of a temporary hold for a few reasons. The main are being a few problems I have faced so far and that now with exams around the corner, I have to devote most of my times to revise.

The problems I am facing at the moment are
Sprites: I'm now working officially as one of the sprite artists for this project doing mainly Older works such as Older Lotta Hart, a really young Udgey etc, however until I get the sprites that the sprite artists I have recruited are finished, I can't really do anything more at the moment.

PWLIB: There's two main concerns at the moment with PWLIB. The first being the issue of custom sprites. I have tried and I can't do it. It's just...impossible for me. I've talked to DeMatador and KSA_Technology but the problem hasn't been resolved yet. The second is the release of 1.2 which will have the Minuki and Mikumo extension, mainly Perceive and GK styled games. The reason for the delay is obvious but I can wait patiently.

I hope that any fans can wait, though there's some good news now.

I'm recruiting beta-testers now for the future. There's a GyakutenWiki page now as well.

4-1 was Apollo's first case yes but my Case 3 is a flashback 23 years in the past. We are dealing with Hyperion Justice, Apollo's father, and his wife Thalassa Gramarye who married Apollo's father first before he was killed.

Does this answer your question?

UPDATE

1. The Gyakuten Wiki page of Apollo Justice Ace Attorney: Justice's Memoirs has gone under several changes with the most prominent being new descriptions of each case, especially 4 and 5. Click 5 if you are ready for heavy GK spoilers as the ending of GK is in Case 5's summary on Gyakuten Wiki.

http://www.gyakutenwiki.net/w/Apollo_Justice_Ace_Attorney:_Justice%27s_Memoirs

2. Sprites are coming along nicely with several new additions from those contributing and myself. I've been working on making specific sprites Older and younger depending on what's needed however, I recently managed to get the 'base' of the Detective in Case 5. I've posted him below for you to view.

Spoiler:
Image

Yes it's meant to be an early design of Inspector Zenigata from Lupin III. He'll be making an appearance due to some of GK's characters. Oh and no criticizing it's bad because of the jacket colours and it's messy. I know that. This is just a base, an idea, an image of what I want him to look like. A rough draft if you like.

3. I'm now recruiting Beta-Testers if you wish to sign up for. Note that, you don't need to contribute something to the game to beta however, I'd recommend it as with every contribution, the game develops faster.

Well, they said critical condition, and von Karma's injury wasn't ever noticed for almost 20 years.

Also, how come when they were shot, why was Apollo branded as the "murderer" when he was holding a knife?

Trucy and Thalassa aren't dead. They were stabbed and shot and lost a lot of blood and fell into critical condition in the hospital later, but they are still alive. Apollo was branded the murderer because there was a knife in front of him and while shocked, he picked it up by accident and then the Manager of Hotel LaDa walked in to the room and he was arrested because of the stab wounds from a knife. They were stabbed and shot.

UPDATE

Following the spirit of Cardivore and SilentBobX, I too am posting that AJAA: JA is still continuing progress. Although I haven't had much to do with it lately, due to I am at a block with sprites and Perceiving, I am still working on it by completing Case 2's script and doing other miscellaneous projects.

Yes, I have been posting notices about signing up to beta this game. Unfortunately, no one has done so except the very few. You can still do so if you want to.

I love everyone releasing continual updates about progress, regardless of how much progress is actually made. It's nice to know that the people behind the scenes are not planning on dropping the project! Far too often, a post will just stop receiving updates, with no word on if it is still being worked on or not. Usually that means the person gave up and moved on, which is sad indeed. It seems like November has been a slow month for a lot of people! I guess it's the holidays that are a big factor.

Keep up the good work, and when programming gets you down, there is always design to be done.

Yeah I hate it too when a really good fan game doesn't receive any update notifications so you get all annoyed. Yeah, November has been a slow month; exams mostly, including me! And the holidays are a big factor as most fan games are having a demo/new release out this month or next!

Sure! Welcome to the crew I suppose. On another note, I have an announcement. Justice's Memoirs will be ported to AAO as well because SE and I each have the same case, so to not spoil my one, JM will be converted to AAO, though note that it will be severely limited due to the technical capabilities of the actual editor itself.

Note that the PWlib version is still in progress and is my main project, so that one isn't being given up on.

Is the REAL jurist system and perceive system going to be in the pwlib version?

UPDATE!

As I announced previously, Justice's Memoirs will also be made on AAO however it will be limited in terms of the functions available. Part 1 of Turnabout Shot Dunk is now complete so play and comment!

Turnabout Shot Dunk Part 1/2

EDIT: The final part is now complete. Here it isTurnabout shot Dunk Part 2/2

EDIT: I'm also aware the custom maps and crime scene photo are very, very bad as I made them very quickly in Paint.

The story is suprisingly well written.

Is the REAL jurist system and perceive system going to be in the pwlib version?

Thanks! Yes, the real Jurist System and Perceive is going to be in the PWlib versions. I am in the progress of ripping the JS GFX and it's working out really well.

However, AAO at the moment hasn't been satisfactory for me at the moment, so only Case 3 will be made on it now. Beta-testers will receive the PWlib versions of every case first as soon as they are completed. Although this is still to come, you should all be excited as there are going to be a few new features such as...

Spoiler:
Lotta's Camera Extension and Gregory Edgeworth's 'Logic'.

You know what I think?
Spoiler: "AJAA: JM" (Open at Own Risk)
This was one of the shortest cases I've ever played, but like a real AJ Case! I got excited and shocked at the perceiving part because I wondered how the perceiving would be brought to AAO. The twitch (scar on cheek due to the overhead light) was on the last statement. By the way, did you edit Leroy (A.K.A. Shadi Smith A.K.A. Zak Gramarye) to see the twitch? It might be short, but had me thrilled! Great job, Ptapcc! :odoroki:

Spoiler: Responses
1. Yeah, I only did 4 testimonies, but I made them medium length and put in a few twists. Thanks for the praise. The people at AAO didn't really appreciate this until I changed a billion things...well it was really only Meph.
2. Yeah, I created this method of Perceiving for AAO due to the limitations of the editor. It's had some good feedback so far, so I'm glad you liked it and yes, I edited Shadi Smith as requested by Meph (the Moderator of Your Trials section on the AAO Forums.). The PWlib version however, will contain proper graphics and sprites courtesy of DefenceLawyer who is making them :will:

Aren't first cases usually shorter than all the others? (except in GS4, that was looooong)

Yeah, it's usually 4-6 testimonies in a case but some like GS4 turn completely nuts but that trial had a major effect on the AA world, so it was okay to make it longer than normal.
