Hello there everyone, I am Blue(ish) link and I've got a very interesting project under my foot.

Though I may be coming to many of you on such a loooowww level being that you guys are creating video games and I've got a two-bit youtube thing that takes me much longer to make than you can actually make a video game, I wish to appeal a youtube interactive video of Ace Attorney.

Link here. (turn on annotations if you don't have them on)

I don't have much to work with, and my support is some guy who says "hmm. This looks nice", and my skills as an editor are far below that of anyone here I bet (as you can see by the videos)

I've came with the project here to see whether or not the project is a good idea, and which direction I should take it in. I've already plotted out something I can do with the sprites I already have (all of them except custom made xD) but I feel like maybe I'm missing something (or someone ;0)

In short of beating around the bush:
What I came here to do:

1. Bring up the project in hopes of seeing if this was a good idea or not.
2. Request somewhat assistance to anyone interested?
3. Get help. Advice, suggestions, anything o_o
4. To meet you all. Hi, my name is chase. :3

Hmm it would be an awful lot of work for you making every different kind of video.er

Also what is the tune in that video? It sounds like a turnabout sisters remix and one I've heard before but where did it come from?

It would be a challenge, yes. But not too hard given I have enough support. I'm on my own here >.>

The song is Turnabout Sisters in the Cadenza remix

I think this could be great, actually! It's very original. But, as Pierre said, it would be an awful lot of work. Especially if you're alone. I would love to be of help to you in any way, my skills are mostly drawing (sprites, backgrounds, character design, pictures of "what happened etc.), but I do have some programming experience (I don't know if that would be of any help making youtube videos though) and I could give you feedback/some ideas I got when I just played through your demo. If you want my help (with any of these) please let me know! (I won't be insulted if you first want to see what I can do and after that still decide you're better of alone, so don't be scared to ask :will:)

Ok, I said I would be giving some feedback, so here it is. I put it up here instead of in a PM, so other people with good ideas might add something too.
Spoiler:
- First of all, what stands out the most to me, is the font. Since Ace Attorney has a pretty familiar and well known one, it just seems off when it's a different one, especially if it's not even a bit similar. Same goes for the textboxes and the thingy for the names. I think it would be possible to download the font somewhere, so it shouldn't be a very big problem to solve but one with a very big impact on the overal feel of the game. Also, like someone on youtube already noted, the text should come into focus from left to right (preferably lettter by letter, like in the games itself, but that would be hard I guess) instead of coming into focus from the middle. Because you can't begin reading before the start of the sentence is there, you have to wait till everything's there, which is kind of annoying.
- Next, you should really start making some sort of script. Without a story, you can make as many amazing game-mechanics as you like, but there won't be a real game. It's really, really, REALLY important.
- Everything that comes next, is part of the scriptwriting, so I can't really say anything more right now. Things like characters, the way they talk, whether you want a lot of cameo's or not, places where the story will take place, reasons for murder/theft/whatever crime occured, etc. I can't give feedback without something to go from. :udgy:
- Oh, talking about locations, do you want to add some investigations sequences? Do you plan to make them interactive too, or do you want some sort of movie, or will everything be courtroom only like the starting cases and case 4 from trials and tribulations? For any of these options, how do you plan to do it?

If you need help/ideas with any of these, please let me know. I would be very happy to help!

I'm looking forward to working on this project with you! :keiko:

Spoiler:
Just downloaded the font and I'm ready to change!
The first two videos do that, but I quickly found a way to change that because even I was getting annoyed with that. xD
A script is what was next. Truuuuuust me, when I say this thing is for testing mechanics, that's precisely what I mean. The true project underneath it (the one I was trying to do before I even thought of making it interactive) is far from development. So speaking about the plot now would probably turn this into a pipe dream, so I'd rather keep building step by step until I'm ready. Though of course, a script should be in the making now, if not the near future.
The investigating part is where I was going to try and take the testing phase next. I don't really have many ideas as far as how I could do that, but ultimately I think I'll end up recreating something from case 2 in the first game just so I can test if youtube could handle that.
As far as standing in front of people and talking to them (asking the specific questions), I can't really do that. Asking questions would make waaaayyy too many video variations, so I'll have them say all they need to say in the beginning, and you can present whatever evidence you need to talk to them about when the talk sequence is done.

Thanks very much for your support, I will say I will need help with pretty much everything you've talked about except for the font and talking part, because there's quite a bit I have to do before I can get to that point, even.

But it's a great honor to have your support and help. I greatly greatly appreciate it.

As do I, this might be the most fun I've had yet :godot:

The problem is that there are some with terrible internet connection so it might not be as easy to play as if you were playing a case on AAO or on an script engine. Aside this possible technical difficulties it's an interesting idea and was pretty fun to play with.
