You mean the one that plays when you defeat an enemy and receive your EXP?

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.

I'll be disappointed if Edgeworth saying 'just one more thing, sir' doesn't factor into the whole equation at some point.

They could show a cameo court-scene where the villain breaks down or something.

That'd be kinda cool.

But the confession will probably be what it is, along with (maybe for the last case) a short trial session.

No no having a trial after a guilty plea would be silly and a waste of the court's time.

What happens is that the person pleading guilty does so in the presence of the prosecutor and judge. They have to agree with the prosecution's version of what occurred, and sometimes have to describe exactly what their crime was. The judge then gives them their sentence.

(Obviously, this is the real world American legal system I'm talking about.)

I'd imagine that, like a normal mystery story, the case will end with the criminal being completely pinned down and unable to weasel their way out of it, possibly ultimately confessing. They'll then be arrested, and we may get some afterword telling us about their trial (if they didn't confess) or something like that.

Are you sure? Because in the Australian system, the case has to be fully investigated properly, and the confessor would have to be examined (in case they were insane or whatnot). They still need a proper defense, even after confessing, as there may be many things to cause the defendant to lie...

This is what I meant by the description of the crime. The prosecutor does not have to accept the guilty plea if they think the defendant is lying, in which case they have to investigate further to come to the truth.

But at any rate, for the purposes of THIS game and of most mystery novels, that aspect is irrelevant. It's more about finding the criminal, proving that they did it, and pinning it on them. At least that's certainly how it's seemed from what information we've learned in the months since I originally made that post. :keiko:

Regarding previous posts...since edgy seems to be working with gumshoe, thus the cops, he wouldn't have to call them at the end would he? I mean...he would just be with gumshoe or call him on his cellphone....but he probably can't afford one^^'''

In at least one case of the game, one of the criminals will try to run away and getting up killed by a car or something...just to keep it from ending with a simple arrest XD I'm sure...OR the case might end up just being an accident^^'' Wouldn't be very smashing but hey, it's possible...

The conceptors will have to be reallllllly imaginative in order to make it fun and exciting. I'm sure it will be...but from the way it sounds, they could be not as fun as a PW game...the endings I mean.

so hum...we'll keep thinking and waiting^^
