I think of Phoenix the dog as the German Shepard and Pess is...I don't know. I kinda liked the idea of Pess as a Corgi, but he/she is supposed to be a large dog, right?

I did want Pess to be a Golden Retriever but now I want him to be a German Shepherd.

Awwww

Double awwww

They're really nice dogs to have too. They're very loyal and protective but also really friendly and daft. My g-ma's one often thinks he's a cat and often tries to sit on your knee :yogi:

Wow, never seen a white one before! So pretty~
I really like German Sheps. One of my besties has one, and he's such a big marshmallow. Gives the best doggie kisses. <3

On the subject of Catworths... wow. A revolutionary thread should be started where everyone posts pictures of their cats in cravats.

If I would dress them all I could open a full court house . . .

I insist that Pess is female. It's just a feminine name, IMO. And he seems like the type to prefer a calmer girl dog.

I saw fanart depicting Pess as a golden retriever or yellow lab, so she's always stuck out in my mind as either of those breeds. But I love the Border Collie/German Shepherd/Akita Inu ideas, too. I could also see him with a greyhound, but my friend has one named Terra and I don't think that Edgeworth would appreciate her bull-in-a-china-shop personality, haha.

btw: the Catworths are adorable!

Well, when I heard of Pess, there was a female dog in my thoughts. But when I really think about it, I imagine a male dog. But when I see Edgey as a serious man who knows what he wants, an Akita Inu may would be too cute. Though I love the idea ;-p

btw, Pess is a very common name for dogs in Japan and used both for males and females. i have several mangas in my collection where the character has a dog named Pess.

Uh oh! Does this mean our dear prosecutor is unimaginative when it comes to naming his pets. Oh god, think of the names he'd give his children! The Japanese naming system of first son, second son, third son comes to mind right now.

Ha ha ha. He would be just like George Forman.

Also, I love the idea of Pesu's localized name as Fido. That has to be the most generic American dog name ever.

Incidentally, there's a girl with his name in an advanced ballet class at my school.
I giggle to myself every time I see a tutu labeled "Miles" hanging up in the studio.

. . . *hopeless*

In other events, I didn't know Pess was a common unisex dogs' name! Just adds to the mystery then, I guess.

Haha, I was just about to say that. XD

I like to think Edgey's one of those people who's so unimaginative that he named Pess something simple and very embarrassing to tell to others. Like "Puppy" or "Cutie-pie."

And Pess in my head-canon is a giant, fat Saint Bernard that wears a cravat. I'm not sure of the gender, but it's very very energetic. And can take down Edgeworth with one paw. And somehow has a very high pitched bark. And sits on Edgeworth's lap and likes to think it's a cat sometimes and Edgeworth can't breathe when it does that.

"Naruhodou" is his family name, and it is a pun meaning something like "Now I get it." His given name is "Ryuichi," which is a real name as far as I know.

"Fido" and "Rover" are generic names for fictional dogs, but how many real people name their dogs that? "Fido" means "faithful," so it might be a good choice. Maybe "Buddy," "Lady," or "Spot" for an uncreative English name?

I think he'd name his firstborn son "Gregory" after his father. Gregory Miles Edgeworth.

I guess we often forget that his first name is Ryuichi because he's mostly refered to by his family name.

So if 4Kids did a Phoenix Wright anime, Pess would be changed to Buddy, Lady, or Spot? Yeah, those are some pretty generic names for dogs.

My parents owned a lot of dogs before I was born. Some of their names were: Zeplin (German Shepard), Tramp (mutt), Buddy (Don't recall, but he looked like terrier to me), and Princess (mutt).

I'm absolutely sure that Pess is overweight. An obese Golden Retriever. Edgeworth has to sleep on the floor often because Pess is so heavy that he can't get him out of his bed when he lays down on it.

I mean, if you think about it, Gummy is like the dog you always wanted.

He's big, cuddly, lovable and occasionally dopey but he is fiercly loyal and over-protective of Edgey. I think he would probably lay down his life for Edgey.

Maybe Pess/Pesu is Edgey's (albeit secret) "pet" name for Gumshoe?
