I see all the magazine scans with the screen shots on the website, but they are all in Japanese. Even the title artwork is in Japanese. I was wondering if they ever finalized the English version of the title. Have they confirmed it to be Perfect Prosecutor, or Turnabout Prosecutor?

Honestly, I think the best title would be this, and by keeping up with the series titles by far:
Miles Edgeworth: Ace Prosecutor

Perfect Prosecutor will have me wanting hot chicks with handguns, aliens claiming to be Elvis, and top-secret Gumshoe cloning facilities. D:!

Turnabout Prosecutor is a pwn'er title, in my opinion.

Where exactly did the title "Perfect Prosecutor" come from? When the rumors first started that was what it was being called, but that title hasn't been on any of the magazine scans or anything, has it?

From a marketing standpoint, I'd expect the "Ace" to be in there just to help let people know it's the same series. (Yes, WE all know, and general gaming enthusiasts will, but brand recognition is GOOD. Heck, prosecutors ARE attorneys -- it might even just get the "Ace Attorney" moniker.

About a year ago I kept imagining a prosecuting game called "Miles Edgeworth: Pompous Prosecutor", because it describes him well, and it's also an alliteration just like Ace Attorney. But Perfect Prosecutor sounds nice too.

Since it hasn't been confirmed for US release, there is no official English title yet. So I'd expect to see a lot of variations on a theme.
Turnabout Prosecutor is closest to a direct translation of Gyakuten Kenji. I imagine Perfect Prosecutor is more of a Ace Attorney alliteration type translation. It doesn't reflect the real meaning of the original, but it's probably a lot closer to what the real title would be.

Turnabout Prosocutor is a translation of the Japanese name, like if they called the Ace Attorney series Turnabout Trial.

It might have some kind of thing where the initials (other than "Miles Edgeworth") are 2 of the same letters like "Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosectutor", or it could be called "Miles Edgeworth: Ace Prosecutor" or something diffrant.

I'm guessing it will have his name in the title though.

I like "Professional Prosecutor", myself. It's classy but doesn't have that high-and-mightyness associated with "Perfect". Especially if the game takes place after 3-5.

Yeah, there's nothing official on it as of yet. It just came from some articles reporting the news IIRC.

It was made up by 8bitJoystick when they were reporting on Famitsu leaks- there is no evidence whatsoever that the game's being called that.

I don't think it's a very good name, at any rate.

I think the name should depend on the time the game takes place. If it's before AA1 then definately Perfect Prosecutor since he was a jerk at the time who indeed thought he was the perfect prosecutor. If it's after the AA3 then go ahead and call it Ace Prosecutor

Heh, I didn't like Perfect Prosecutor when I first heard it, just because of the negative connotations "Perfect" has in the AA world, I thought they'd change it to Pro(fessional) Prosecutor as well, to keep the alliteration but get rid of the "perfect" but if it is set during the middle of game one, then Perfect might still fit.

But then again, they might want to tie it in with the other AA games (like how they kept the Gyakuten in the JP name), so they might use Ace Attorney, heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if the called it:
Ace Attorney:
Miles Edgeworth:
Perfect (or whatever) Prosecutor

Isn't that a bit long, even for PW standards like: Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Justice for all. This title was little too long for me, so...

I like Ace Prosecutor, myself. Perfect Prosecutor would be more appropriate if the game took place around PW:AA, since he was still obsessed with perfection then. Besides, Ace Prosecutor has a better ring to it.

I'd prefer the title to start with P to keep the alliteration aspect. I like perfect prosecutor because of the association of the word "perfect" with the Von Karma's and by extension Edgey...

I have no objections to it's new style of gameplay, although some of my friends seem to not like it.

I'll be angry if they change the generic courtroom look, however. They have to use the same sprite and background cooperation as they did in GS1-GS4

Spoiler: 4-4
They did a flashback case where you played as Phoenix, and they used all the old courtroom sprites from games 1-3...

They can just re-do a better version from the old courtroom sprites whilst attempting to make sure it's not that similar to the Apollo Justice courtroom; making it looked like the court renovated by then.

They could just call it Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney, since prosecutors are still technically attorneys.

To me, Perfect Prosecutor is more fit to a game featuring the von Karmas.

I prefer Turnabout Prosecutor.

Miles Edgeworth isn't a Turnabout Prosecutor. It sounds a little awkward. If anything, it'd make sense to make it Ace Attorney, seeing as prosecutors are attorneys, too.

I'd rather it have a different name from Ace Attorney, or at least add/change something (aside from the character name, of course) to further establish it as a spin-off and not just as another game in the series.

Besides, if they just stick with the AA title and someone plays this game first, it could give them the wrong impression about the other games. I mean, if it's called 'Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney', and it doesn't focus on trials/court scenes, isn't that a bit misleading?

I think "Turnabout Prosecutor" wouldn't be as good of a title as "Perfect Prosecutor" since not everyone who isn't a fan knows that "Gyakuten" in Gyakuten Saiban actually means turnabout.. Not many people (in North America and Europe, of course) even know that it's Gyakuten Saiban in Japanese..

In short

Gyakuten/Turnabout is the Japanese thing

Having an alliteration in the subtitle is the English thing

The Japanese title is Gyakuten Kenji so it's definitely Turnabout Prosecutor. The person who posted the news on NeoGAF admitted that it was just alliteration. Personally I think Capcom USA will either keep this name (or give it a similar one) to avoid confusion with the main titles, or they'll just stick with Ace Attorney.

Perfect Prosecutor sounds a bit strange to me. I mean, sure Edgeworth is arrogant, but I don't think he comes out as a perfectionist.

Also, I think the name on the forum section should be changed since we have no idea if the game will actually be called "Perfect Prosecutor;" it might confuse new ppl looking at the forum that the fan speculated title is the official name.
