物語のボリュームは2と同じくらい
御剣とイトノコがいつもペアを組んで行動ということはない
成歩堂は存在を匂わす程度で、間接的にしかでない(御剣主人公の物語からずれてしまうから)

The volume of Gyakuten Kenji's story is the same as GS2.
Neither Edgeworth nor Gumshoe behave always together.
Phoenix appears at degree to hint existence indirectly.

What? Larry? (If so, that would be awesome.)

I'm a little confused about this whole time line thing now. First this game is supposed to take place in GS1, then GS3 and now it's GS2? HRM.

Let's see if I can't guess at what this would be in a less literal translation...
It's about as long as GS2.
Either Gumshoe and Edgeworth spilt up from time to time, or when together, they occasionally misbehave. (take that as you will)
Phoenix gets a Cameo at best, or maybe just a mention.

Makes me wish I knew any Japanese..
Still, all of that sounds good to me, GS2 is one of the shortest, but it’s still fun, and if Phoenix showed up too much he might hi-jack the plot again.

Thanks for the info and stuff JapaneseGIRL!

at least we know Phoenix is still alive in this one (then again GS4 showed us he was still alive)

Yeah I'm assuming it'll be as long as gs2, set in gs3-era.

It says it's set "around GS3" so there's no telling if it's during or after... Or if it's after, if it's long enough after GS3 that Phoenix is no longer a lawyer.

The interview says they didn't want appearances by Phoenix to take the spotlight away from Edgeworth (>.> @ AJ?) so his appearances will be limited to things like his name popping up in dialogue, or "that guy at the ramen stand looks like Phoenix!"

Which is probably the way to go when doing a spin off, but if Phoenix doesn't play a role in the story, I'm guessing Maya won't, either. Though... to see her sitting at a ramen stand with HoboPhoenix would at least clear up the "does Maya still hang with Phoenix once he's disbarred" questions a bit more.
