A lot of good stuff from this guy, actually.

I used to swear my life by this song until I began listening to music outside of J-Pop. Like this one:

Breaking The Law - Judas Priest

This is probably their second or third best known song. It's a simple repeating third-chord riff with a short running time and a lot of punch packed in. The song is about a guy who's life has gone from good to bad: he has no job, no money, and no place to live. Eventually he decides that the only way to make a living is by (wait for it).........breaking the law. The best part of this song is the way the band members all pitch in during the chorus, gleefully expressing their disgust for law and order and embracing their anarchist and hedonist virtues. IOW, the chorus is the best part of the song.

This song is secretly about abortion and the various factors that indirectly cause it.

Also, how fitting is it that I'm listening to a Metallica song after quoting someone with Megadeth in their post.

Not my favorite opera, but I like it nonetheless. Admittedly, it deviates significantly from Pushkin's original plot, but as a standalone work, the plot's fabulous.

I like this song. It's a unique sounding song. A part of it was the theme for the 70's sitcom, Sanford And Son.

In better detail, it alludes to the Row v. Wade case and Norma McCorvey's rape induced pregnancy.

That aside, I'm listening to "Electric Crown" by Testament. I don't know if this song has any political background but I do know it's about a criminal who had nothing left to live for, so he committed a crime for which he must die. He claims that his crime was justified although the specifics are unknown. The listener is left only to sympathize with the man and his plight, which is difficult if you're not from the slums, so to speak.

"Foreplay/Long Time" by Boston

This song is divided into two parts. "Foreplay", the first part, runs from 0:00 - 2:30 and serves as little more than an intro to the second half, "Long Time". It's a long song, close to 8 minutes, but it rocks.

I like this song. I like the idea it presents. Belafonte talks about all of the countries and peoples of the world getting together, putting aside their differences, and just having fun. No war, no hate, no enemies. Just one big party. A Global Carnival.

"Resident Evil: Outbreak -Main Theme." - Akihiko Matsumoto obviously from Capcom.

This theme it's both awesome, and creepy. It mixes the sounds really great making you imagine you're right in the middle of Racoon but you don't see any zombies or mutants, you're ALONE in the silent and bloody streets left 4 dead (XD) by the goverment who thinks everyone's dead.

I think I crossed the line with that explanation of the song XD but, that doesn't mean it's not true, it's one of the greatest songs ever.

Just if anyone wants to listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk64edM-2wk

Goddbye for now. :jake:

Nothing Else Matters - Metallica

Now I can understand why Metallica's burnt out 80s "fans" hated anything after 1988. This song is pretty much Metallica disassociating themselves from pure thrash metal and opening up their minds to newer venues, such as hard rock. Apparently, this struck discordantly with the children who grew up on Kill 'Em All, and so they decided it was their nature to get butt-hurt over change and abandon Metallica, staying within their shallow confines continuously deluding themselves that "the good old days" are gone and that music is dead while simultaneously playing hypocrit by continuing to listen to music long after it kicked the bucket.
