Porcupine Tree's "Stars Die" may be the most soothing song about the apocalypse that I've ever heard.

The Moon shook, and curled up like gentle fire.
The oceans glazed, and melted wire.

I swear, the more I listen to this band the more I like them. It's amazing music, very emotional in just simply how it sounds...

I fucking love this band, it's grunge, but it's really heavy compared to most other grunge I've heard.

man I hate his voice so much. I hate their drummer too. Their music grinds me so badly, I associate it with vomit. Or rather, the act of projectile vomiting. Dvořák's symphonies--all nine of them, in order. Currently on: No. 6 in D Major. Always a nice, happy key.

I can't say much about the works for voice that he did, but his works for only orchestra are incredible.

Robbie Williams and Pet Shop Boys "Jealousy." The song is inspiring me to write another fic, so I keep listening to it over an over again trying to plot my next story. I've been listening to a lot of Robbie Williams lately. I guess he has some catchy songs, not really sure why otherwise. Normally I stick to 1980s Alternative (Ultravox, Dead or Alive, REM, The Smiths, and such)

The Perfect Girl by The Cure

It's a nice, catchy upbeat song which is one of TC's best, in my humble opinion. I guess I can relate to the song in the sense that my friend had the same attitudes about me when he first met me, even if the romantic feelings kind of faded after a while.

Spoiler: Lyrics
You're such a strange girl
I think you come from another world
You're such a strange girl
I really don't understand a word
You're such a strange girl
I'd like to shake you around and around
You're such a strange girl
I'd like
To turn you
All upside down

You're such a strange girl
The way you look like you do
You're such a strange girl
I want to be with you

I think I'm falling
I think I'm falling in
I think I'm falling in love with you
With you

Well not really, it's just like a mixture of popular electronic bands such as Daft Punk and Royksopp. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone on the planet though.

Everytime that song comes on the radio I think, "How odd, why would this station be playing 'Werewolves of London,' only to realize its not Warren Zevon, but this Kid Rock song. When will the sampling stop? I think it rips off of Zevon more than it does Skynard in the sound of the song.

From Wikepedia: Kid Rock's 2007 song "All Summer Long" samples "Sweet Home Alabama" on the chorus and uses the guitar solo and piano outro; Billy Powell is featured on the track. "All Summer Long" also samples Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London", which has similar chord progression to "Sweet Home Alabama".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Home_Alabama_(song)

So, I guess you could say that it actually samples from the equally. I never really noticed how similar the chord progression was until I actual went back and listened to both songs carefully. To me at least, the Kid Rock sounds more like Zevon's, except for the parts that are clearly Skynard.

When i found out they used this song in GTA San Andreas (along with a few other 70's and 80's country songs) i couldn't beleive it. This is one of my fav's from 1987 (there's dozens of country songs i like that came out in this year ) It's nice to see songs like this being introduced to those who wern't arround back then :jake:
