You know, I think the most beautiful songs are usually those which don't include any singing. Though they don't have any lyrics, the melody itself is easily able to shatter our hearts into smithereens. Sometimes, there's just no need for any words to express a feeling....

I hate country, but my friend made me listen to Concrete Angel. The song and video made me cry.

The Winner takes it all, really? I've always felt it was kinda happy and positive like most of ABBA's tunes.

Really? Ever since I was a child, I've thought of the song as a kind of sad one :yuusaku:

despite being written in a major key (like most of their songs) it's a bit slower, to be like a ballad. The lyrics too, are pretty sad. The song is told from the "loser's" point of view. The first verse alone says "I don't wanna talk/About the things we've gone through/Though it's hurting me/Now it's history". When you feel like the "loser" it becomes pretty depressing...
But yea, that's why the song makes me want to cry...

"I apologize/If it makes you feel bad"

There have only been a few songs that can make me cry, and they are:

The Deftones - Cherry Waves
Because Chino sings like he cares so much
Grandaddy - Lava Kiss
The band puts it together absolutely perfectly and Lytle's voice is perfect for it
Satanstompingcaterpillars - Goodbye Method
It draws from that sad subconscious part of you
Death Cab For Cutie - Cath...
Ben's guitar line kills me. It also has this sort of "oh well..." feel to it, but the lyrical content is so depressing, contrasting. It just gets me when the guitar line descends under the choruses

This speaks for itself. It's beautiful
