Within the past year I've decided that this is no longer something to be ashamed of. I LIKE DISCO!!! *shotshotshot*

But seriously, this music genre is SO underappreciated. Let's show it some love!!!

If nobody writes anything here I'm probably going to feel like a total doof, not to mention a bit of a spammer because I just started a topic today that got locked within like ten minutes. I KNEW I shouldn't have started that topic... I gotta listen to my conscience more often. BUT I WILL NOT BE ASHAMED!!! I LIKE DISCO!!!!!!!!!!
Why is it that every time I smell cleaning products I feel the urge to scrub the kitchen floor with a toothbrush while wearing yellow rubber gloves and listening to the Village People's "In the Navy"?

HOLY LORD I've been waiting for a topic on this! *I'm not sure if there was one before but whatever*

Disco is so awesome for some reason. I don't know why though, it just is.

I like the Bee Gees... but that's where it stops. As for the era and the bad fashion sense, I can do without.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

Disco is fun for a while, but most of it is laughable. Good thing it's gone now. Or at least partially buried.

Okay, yeah. A lot of disco wasn't exactly the best. And I guess the world could've done without those creepy spandex getups and huge 'fros. But that doesn't change the fact that there was still quite a bit of great disco music *cough*thebeegees*cough* and that's not to mention the classic dance move. Where would we be without that silly little slash of a pointer finger? Lemme tell you, that move was my entire childhood.

Just admit it. Disco is cool.

Disco itself is pretty cheesy. But that's just part of it's silly charm.

I hate people who are all "HURR DERR DURP DISCO IS SHITTY MUSIC"
I'm not a big disco fan myself, but the music was never to be taken seriously.
It's just cheesy innocent goofy fun.

I respect anyone who has the balls to get on the dance floor wearing bellbottoms and 12-inch platform shoes all while sporting a bitchin' multi-colored afro.
I'd like to see YOU all do that.

Now, when it comes to the music itself, I like some Earth, Wind, and Fire, The Trammps, and don't forget MOTHERFUCKIN' JAMIROQUAI.

That's right.

There's no way in hell i would (and needless to say a doo like that would have a diffrent meaning today).
I actually can see disco as being the music :redd: listens to.

Disco and rock / metal were in kind of a battle in the 70's.
And ultimately....
Disco died and rock and metal lived :rock'n:
DOWN WITH DISCO!

First of all, rock was never and could never be in competition with ANYTHING, except when it first came out. It's just TOO awesome for that. (And need I remind you how awful most modern rock music is?)

That leaves us with Disco VS. Metal.

It's a fairly simple matter of opinion. Can't stand metal? Go disco. Can't stand disco? Go metal. Can't stand either? That's what classic rock is for. Da-duuuuuuuuhn! :jazzedgy:

And frankly, metal just scares me. Seriously.

Therefore, disco trumps metal.

Plus, think of all the stuff disco's brought us! Mamma Mia, possibly one of the biggest musicals in the ENTIRE WORLD, was just one fabulous result of disco. What joys have metal music brought to us?

Just as I thought. :edgy:

Who the hell is mama mia?
Let's see. Disco brought the Village People, Bee Gees, disco duck,,,, *PUKES*

My fav' scene in Detroit Rock City is when a couple of disco fans get owned by the Kiss fans (not even Kiss could keep disco from sucking).

I was a fan of disco and seventies music when I was in the seventh grade, but no so much anymore.

Also, there is more than one kind of "disco" dance.

If Jamiroquai is considered disco, then I like it.
Then again, their best albums are not really disco, but acid jazz, which despite being similar in some regards, is less commercial and musically more influenced by 70s funk, soul and jazz fusion than disco.

Marvin Gaye's I Want You, arranged by Leon Ware, is often labeled as disco, too, and I find it to be a very good mood album.
I don't mind Earth Wind & Fire, either.

Things that were popular in the 70s are the best.

Disco is the best.

Okay. Wow.

I would like to apologize to all of the disco haters that posted here. I was insanely sleep deprived when I started this topic. I had no idea what I was doing. Almost forty-eight hours without sleep will do that to you. (NOT insomnia!) When I woke up the next morning, I thought it was all a dream. Apparently not. And while I still do love some disco, I would never go so far as to start an entire topic on it. So for that, I'm really sorry.

There's just no pleasing some people, is there...

Oh boy. Again, I must apologize to all the disco lovers around here. That was badly worded. What I mean was that I do like disco, but not THAT much. You know, disco IS cool. But I think I could've left the topic-making to the TRUE fans. You know, people who know more about disco than just the awesomeness of The BeeGees and The Village People. It wasn't in my place to do that is what I'm saying.

Honestly, I was insanely sleep-deprived when this all went down. I wasn't in a right state of mind, see? If I could delete this topic and/or prevent all this craziness from happening, I would, but then all the wonderful disco lovers here wouldn't have been brought together, would they? Anyways, I'm not going to achieve peace here because whatever I say to please one side, the other side will criticize me for it, so let's forget about my stupid misadventures and focus on the main thing here:

DISCO.
