Yup! Same here! I recently got into it after I got into anime a few months ago (since I long despised it, but that's another story)
Whenever I'm at work and I'm listening to my music my coworkers ask me what I listen to. I opt out and avoid saying what I'm really listening to so I say stuff like Metallica/Queen/Led Zeppelin. Stuff like that. Yeah pride!

Crush 40 =._.= Even though they sing cheesy rock songs for the Sonic games. It would be nice if they ever made songs for other games like starfox.

And I'm probably the only person here who cares for Jesse McCartney songs =^^;=

What if a co-worker asks if they can listen to it, too? Do you have some Metallica or so songs on your MP3 player, just in case?

I like that Lady Goo Goo Moshi Monster Dance song...

I also like some Lady Gaga songs... b-but not all of them! Haha... haha... :sawit:

Old songs. I got most of 'em from Dancing With The Stars but... yeah. Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler, The Pointer Sisters, you name it, I usually got it. I'm a mix of Broadway/country/video game soundtrack fan.

I'm also a big fan of Lindsey Stirling and Taylor Swift. Whoopie!

This :phoenix: I LOVE J-Pop -particularly songs used in anime openings, because those songs I am more familiar with- but most of my friends and family AREN'T into the anime/japanese scene so... yeah. I play it by myself, I feel like it's a masterpiece :larry: I play it around someone else, they usually raise their eyebrows and ask 'what the heck IS this weird music?' :ron: So yeah, because I feel alone in my liking of j-pop (at least in my immediate community), it's a guilty pleasure :phoenix:

I have a few, actually. Then again, I'm not particularly open with music I love, but these deserve a special mention:

Cherry Bonbon, PonPonPon, Candy Candy, Nekomimi Switch, We Are PopCandy, PoPiPo, and Caramelldansen. IRL, I rarely, if ever, tell others that I like these songs, majorly because I don't want to look immature or look like a weeaboo.

The Cure, some of Evanscene's works, and most J-rock, Lady Gaga, and....Okay, I'll just say this; 99.9% of my favorite music are guilty pleasures.

It's not like I'm embarrassed to admit it, but it still feels like a guilty pleasure since it's not "my type of music" at all, but; I really like Nicky Minaj's Roman Holiday. It cheers me up, for different reasons.

Also I listen to a lot of video game music and that's sort of one as well.

I love some which I lovingly call "dork-music": stuff like "Gold" by Spandau ballet, "Come on Eileen" by dexy's midnight runners, "I won't let the sun go down on me" by Nik Kershaw and that Boom boom boom boom I want you in my room song. Also I genuinely love the song "Enola gay" but even though it sounds like one it's about Hiroshima bombing so it doesn't really qualify as a dork song, and either way I like it too much to be ashamed.

On the same note I really like many songs by the Village people, but I'm not embarassed about that either. In fact, if reincarnation exists I hope to be a member of Village people in my next life, I mean dressing in whacky clothes and bumping crotch on stage - what's not to like?

I have some trash pop music on my iPod. Let me see... Two Britney songs (Let Me Be and Why Should I Be Sad), six Madonna songs (Ray of Light, Sorry, Frozen, Don't Tell Me, Get Together and Miles Away), "What Goes Around... Comes Around" by Timberlake, "Disturbia" by Rihanna and "Marry the Night" by Lady Gaga. I'm not a fan of these artists, but for some reason (mainly cause of the lyrics) I like the songs I mentioned.

I could even tolerate Demi Lovato if it wasn't for my 13-year-old cousin listening to her songs in the car all the time, always THE SAME SONGS "Let it go, let it gooo" "I'd have a heart attaaaaaack" "oh-oh-oh, I really don't care"

And that's (partly) why I vastly prefer the Idina Menzel version.

I thought you called the band Sexy Midnight Runners... Ah, Freud! But, yeah, dorky music can be quite lovely.

I'm not too keen on the music by Village People, but bumping crotch on stage sounds like a fun reincarnation-goal. My reincarnation goal is to be a manic Italian folk singer who prances/dances around on stage, gesticulates a lot and sings really fast. I think I would like that. Also, said Italian folk music might or might not be guilty pleasure-music. I haven't decided yet.

To be honest, I am seriously digging this song.

I haven't been impressed with the Goo Goo Dolls in recent years, but if this is any indication that their sound is evolving, then they have my attention again.

Gold and Come on, Eileen are both really great songs. They were big influences on my musical taste when I was younger, haha.

For me, it's JPop; I'm afraid to admit to liking it because people think it's a weird language. If I have to choose a few songs I'm ashamed or embarassed about... There's the Delicious Tomato Song from the anime series, Hetalia. It's really catchy.

Also Disco Balloon by Kenshi Yonezu. The lyrics are about hating someone, and wishing they were dead. ...Yeah. :eh?:

5. Thong Song XDXDXD
4. Baby got Back (these are probably all gonna be about butts XD)
3. Stupid Hoe (Is this about butts??? It's sung by the princess of big asses)
2. Pixie Hollow OST (WHAT THE HECK?! That game shut down 3 years ago.)
1. Milkshake (This song reminds me of Inspector Grosky from Professor Layton. Maybe it's the part about "the yard.")

So that's it. My friends and family have no idea that I listen to something other than J-pop. :edgey:
