This thread is to discuss formats both digital and physical. Downloads seem to be taking over the world, it's making Songs easier to get a hold off. At the same time many question its legibility. Limewire is dead and everyone can rip songs off youtube. Despite that, I know there are still some people who buy records (vinyls), tapes and CDs, weather it's from a shop, record fair or online. Each of them have thier pros and cons.

I prefer physical copies over files, I don't have a tape player anymore but I do play some of my mums vinyls and my own small collection. I have a lot of CDs as well, I walked into a second hand shop and bought tons of them each week. It was well worth it. Working in a charity shop, I do see lots of tapes and records.

On files I like the MP3 format the most as they work on both iTunes and windows.

I mostly have MP3s from iTunes (And other places) now, but I still have a TON of CDs that my family's had since the early 90s. I think the oldest CD I have is from 1995-1996, which is the Spice Girls' album "Spice".

My parents have vinyls and tapes from the 1970s-1980s, but they're mostly country and rock singers from those times. I don't remember all of them, though.

I use soulseek to get mp3s. don't need no albums.

My dad, though, has a shit-ton of vinyls and albums lying around everywhere.
