Since they're out on the same day over here, what do you think I should get? Layton 2 or Scribblenauts?

Layton = 9/25 (UK)
Scribblenauts = 9/15

But that question wouldn't let me sleep. I would STEAL for both of those games.

In the UK they're both 9/25.

Layton 2! We've waited so long for it.

Btw, only a week and a half until the US release! :D

If we're talking about how to get 2 great games in the future I suggest that you trade in some old games that you don't play anymore/don't think that you're going to play anymore, take those to an games store & trade those old games in for either store credit or cash. That way you can afford both & its worked for me in the past :phoenix:

Think I'll trade in Flower, Sun and Rain on DS, not sure I'd play that anymore. Good story but dull to play.

It sucks that we have to wait a month. Although, I guess it's better than nothing. *cough*TaT*cough*
We do get it a day before UK and it is released a couple of days before my birthday so I guess it's alright. :keiko:

I call shinanegans on this game. Half the puzzles are simple "dick-around-with-your-head-ha-ha-you're-a-dumbass" questions and you keep thinking you have the right answer until you just lose it and guess every possible answer until the minutes of your life have wasted away to nothing and you aren't punished even slightly for making a mistake. Seriously, why give the player the benefit of the doubt? Why is there no kind of strict penalty system? It makes the "omg failure" moments less "omg failure" and more "suck it up Joe you're gonna finish this puzzle whether you want to or not". At least let the Picarat count drop all the way to 0.

And I'm still going to finish the game because I'm a sucker for mysteries. =/

EDIT: While I'm raging, why have a category for Math problems when there is no actual math involved? I spend - literally - hours on a problem that should be totally solvable with simple algebra only to find out that it requires MOTHER FUCKING LOGIC instead.

I can't wait for Layton 2!

I loved the first game even if it made me feel like an idiot sometimes, but so did PW so that's okay.
I borrowed it from my friend and I'm very sad I don't own it. But at least I will own Diabolical Box. ^^

The Layton hate is ridicullous. It's a PUZZLE game. So you solve PUZZLES.

2 effing days. I can't wait.

In some news, apparently the game's manual confirms "the Last Time Travel", but so did the first game, so meh.

The art style, the story, the puzzles... Everything was great. This is the best DS game I've ever played.

Couldn't agree more.
And I hoping DB to best it, with the new sprite style, and more animated cutscenes, and hopefully more story. It'll be hard, but I'm hoping.

Just 1 day and my DS' still not fixed.

God, I just can't freaking wait one more day. I've been hyped about this game since GDC, and in less than 24 hours it'll be out!

The worst thing is, when I finish it, I'll be crazily waiting for Last Time Travel.

I think I'm going to need to break out my old avatar again soon.

Like tomorrow.

Edit: ALSO: TOMORROW. SWORD FIGHTING LAYTON. I DO NOT THINK PEOPLE ARE QUITE EXCITED ENOUGH AT THIS PROSPECT. WHAT IS THE DEAL YOU GUYS.

Oh, yeah, the sword fight. A bit spoilery in the trailer, maybe, but interesting. I'm waiting for that too.

Well, I'm waiting for the game as a whole, not emphasizing speciffic parts. After all, it's the Layton game we've been waiting for 2 years or so.

Here a comparative of art styles between Curious Village and Diabolical Box:

Spoiler: Professor Layton and the Curious Village
Image
Front facing sprites, ala Gyakuten Saiban, but smaller and multiple chars.

Spoiler: Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box
Image
Side-facing sprites, ala Gyakuten Kenji, but smaller.

Personally, I like the new ones the most.

"Diabolical Box" is obviously due to the rumors that every person who opens that box dies. That's why "Devil's Box", "Pandora's Box", "Diabolical Box". "Elysian Box" is the name of the actual box, I don't why.

And I never liked Layton's old sprites. I prefer the new ones a lot.

This is too awesome, man! I love the new "sayings" but I think I'll miss "Professah! I've solved it!" the most. ;__;

The new style looks not that different, but still seems like a huge improvement. They seem to be more animated too...

OH GOD. IN ONE HOUR. IT WILL BE OUT HERE.
