In my opinion, espectacular. I've seen really REALLY funny scenes xD I didn't understand it 100%, but just watching them was deadly, I couldn't stop laughing xD

Spoiler: About the Credits
Is this exciting thing that several people have talked about in the credits something that isn't meaningfully exclusive to the events of GS5? (ie, would I, not having played GS5, feel impacted by it if someone described it to me?) Also, would you consider it a stinger or cliffhanger for GS6? No details or names, please (yes and no is best!)

Very good question indeed, I'm also interested in this.
I've heard some good comments about it, but can anyone specifically answer this question? :shoe:

EDIT: I've missed the answer above completly, before posting this... Ah, well...

I'm note really sure if it is spoilerish or not, but I decided to tag it anyway:

Spoiler:
1. In DD's main plot, is the Jurist System being thrown out of the window completely, or any explanation on why it didn't push through? Isn't DD all about "presenting decisive evidence vs. people's opinions" again?
2. I somehow know that Vera Misham's trial was just a test case for the Jurist System, but was it even mentioned in DD?
3. I've read that DD mentioned something about Phoenix being disbarred before because of this "dark age of justice system". As we know, Phoenix was disbarred because of forged evidence (which we know he did unintentionally). Is DD all about this issue again (forging evidence, controlling witnesses and stuff like GS1 and GS4)?
4. And I'm also curious of the story and how intense are the cases. Is it like as intense as T&T, as elaborate as AJ, or as disconnected as JFA?

Haven't played the game but I can answer the first three.

Spoiler:
1. Its never mentioned
2. Again, its never mentioned.
3. I think Phoenix being disbarred was the beginning of the dark days of law. Or at least one of the reasons it began. I'm not exactly sure about this one.

Spoiler: Maya & Pearls
I believe it's only a small flashback, Phoenix recieves a letter from Maya trough Pearls, and that's when she appears for an all of about 10 seconds, as a still image in 2d form from the old games (as can be noted by the "old" office). So I'd call it a bit of a stretch to say it's a case on it's own :Keko-hands:

I'd like to know how the humor is when it comes to writing, and not just the visual side. Has Yamazaki's writing gone up levels since AAI or is it just as slap-stick, "look I want to be laughed at" funny?

It's kind of hard to say. A lot of the humor will probably be changed in the localization, to add references and jokes and puns and whatnot.

WAIT, how has this not been asked yet? (Or has it and I just missed it?)

How is the voice acting? Are any of the voices just plain weird? And for people who had voices before (aka courtroom players), are they noticeably different from the interjection voices?

It's fine, I think. The animation clips are pretty short, so it's not like it's really a big part of the game.

You do know that's the Japanese voices you're talking about right?
I don't believe the Japanese version has any issues like the dubbed (US/EU) could possibly have. But I could be wrong.
(Don't quote me on this one, but I think they didn't really change voice actors like they'll do over in the US/EU, right?)

The voice actors are the same ones from past official trailers and TGS presentations. I think they did a pretty good job with certain scenes.

But is it me, or does Edgeworth's objection voice keep changing over the course of the trial? For one thing, it sounds completely different from his original voice, as well as the voice given in the animated scenes. But the first and last objections sound slightly different too. Finally, the credits showed several different names after Takemoto Eiji. If my suspicions are right... I have to feel sorry for Edgey.

Since I played GS5 right after replaying GK2, Edgey's different voice clip really bothered me. But I didn't notice his voice clip changing over the course of the case.

How does the quality of the storytelling differ from AAI in this game? (Hint: I think AAI has a poorly-executed narrative and structure)

Are there any references to Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney, anything to imply that that game is canon to GS5/the rest of the series?

Please no details, just a yes or no.

I have a question for people who have finished the game that I'll put in spoilers just in case, but I dunno if it's a major spoiler or nothing at all.

I know you're being cautious, but
Spoiler:
you should keep in mind that any degradation of the K-9 Unit's Missile is completely and heartlessly unfounded. Missile is the epitome of nobility among the doggiedom. Commiting such atrocious acts would surely spell doom for all of dogkind.

linkenski wrote:

Has this not been answered yet? Alright, then.

I find the pacing appropriate given the different situations. The investigations moves at a relaxing pace (in a different pov, it may sometimes feel just a bit dragged, but that's just the nature of the investigation parts), while the court segments regularly maintain a similar level of excitement. The difficulty graduates upward at a decent pace, but I think the occasional jumps in difficulty are sometimes a bit too sudden. (Well, that could just be me when I realize what it is that I overlook.)

Judging the overall progression of the story, it begins well with the tense atmosphere around the bombing and Apollo's temporary leave, but by the end, I feel it's just a bit rushed to reach a conclusion. Yet, the ending itself is a fantastic job. I've yet to see a more impressive breakdown that so wholly concludes a game.

No, she's just there to watch the trial. She does interrupt at one point to insist that Athena is responsible when there seems to be a standstill.

Sadly, no. GS4 Phoenix doesn't come out much in the game, but his laxer side is more obvious when he takes a supporting role in a case instead. (It may have been intentional with how "split" Phoenix's design in this game is. He even has a different model for his court and investigation parts.)

Ah, now I remember. She wasn't a witness to the murder, but did a little investigation of her own. Yet, I still have to question why she couldn't take Ponta to the stand instead. Is it really too much for her to explain her reasons again? Or perhaps Fulbright just wanted to participate.
