I'm not sure if that's correct though...in that game, Iris fights for revenge on her brother. Here, Iris doesn't fight to a certain degree but helps out because of Godot. I don't think Iris (PW Iris) is the sort for revenge. She's just too forgiving for that...though I do have to say that Dahlia has some certain aspects of Mega Man's Iris...

It is a very beautiful story. I don't believe the author belongs to the forum, but she is very talented (no other Phoenix/Iris stuff but I quite like most of her PW stories). If you're interested in more of what she's written then go here for her profile. I heard from her just today and she said she's working on a happier sequel, so we have that to look forward to as well. Also, someone on fanfiction.net recently started a C2 for Phoenix/Iris stories which can be found here. You guys may have already seen most of these stories, but I figured I'd post the link just in case.

The Iris twist is brilliant even for the Phoenix Wright games. From the start of JFA they hint at a Phoenix and Maya relationship. But the whole times Phoenix denies it. Throughout T&T they make you distrust Dahlia and Iris. But Phoenix trusts her to the end. You respected Phoenix, but you thought he was an idiot on these seperate points. Then 3-5 ends, and guess what? YOU... WERE... WRONG... Phoenix was right. He loves Iris, and Iris doesn't want to kill him. You doubted Phoenix, but he was right the whole time. Shutup about Phoenix / Maya, it's not going to happen.

That's exactly it. I get this large erection whenever I ship main character. In fact, I can easily block out any amount of subtext just so I can have my orgasmic main character pairing. Gee whiz, you sure showed me the error in my ways.
Do I have to explain myself again? It's perfectly fine to dislike or downright hate a pairing. Hell, I've got a long list of pairings I believe are a huge pile of shit. However, the moment you decide to give people crap for supporting said pairings, you automatically lose all credibility.
And there are no right or wrong pairings, only pairings in which you dislike.

I mention Phoenix / Maya because the idea of a relationship between the two is vitally important to the set-up for the Phoenix / Iris relationship. If you didn't want to see Phoenix and Maya together (and honestly, with all hints starting in JFA, who didn't?), the final twist is going to have significantly less of an impact on you, and if you still like the idea of Phoenix and Maya after the twist then it really didn't leave much of an impact on you anyways. And I don't care which pairings you like, not my business, but it's really sad to see shipping favored over one of the best plot twists in any form of media. Or maybe you think that Phoenix and Iris and Maya can have a three-way relationship, and I really have no comment for that, but... um... everybody wins?
As for pairings, there are DEFINITELY right pairings. Maggey and Gumshoe? Mia and Diego? Arguing that there's no such thing as a right pairing is like arguing that Romeo and Juliet didn't love each other. There are also definitely wrong pairings, though which pairings are wrong is harder to argue. Then there's always an endless list of possible pairings, but that falls under the domain of shipping so I don't care about it.

And being the idiot he is, Godot belittles him and tells him of that time he sees Phoenix and Iris together. He remember the time he talked to Iris and asks him about how's Phoenix doing. She replies that he's doing rather well. And the usual banter of telling Phoenix to take care of her or else...and I do mean 'or else' literally...
