I was 17 when I joined this forum. During this time I participated in a thread that made light of sexual assault and event making jokes about it. I didn't think much of it at the time other than portraying a villain. I am older, looking back see how unacceptable & disgusting. I removed the comments because I do not wish to condone this behaviour. But of course fragments remain. I can only apologise for any hurt of distress caused.

Yeah, Death Note definately showed that with a few special effects, you can make anything dealing with finding things out exciting.

But Death Note also showed that you can go too far... hence the above example. When trying to make non-actiony things actiony, you're treading on some difficult ground. I mean how annoying is it going to get if we have to hear phoenix inner-monolouge every five seconds with the screen waving about and lines flying everywhere. The situation has to be appropriate, and you have to put just the right amount of epicness into it.

But moving on: I think GS/AA would look great on the screen. The setting, themes, and plot can easily be carried over to television without becoming a "monster of the week" program. I think a light-hearted courtroom drama would be great.
I personally would want an OVA series detailing the events of the games, and then a larger, secondary project devoted to new cases in a possible alternate-universe to make creative allowances.
I'm no expert of anime publishers, but, as has already been established, 4kids (while being insanely entertaining) would phail. I've seen a couple of dubs by Funimation, and I think they do a good job of staying true to the Japanese and they hire good English actors. I'm on the fence about ADV, because I watched about three minutes of the Chrono Crusade dub before switching to the sub because the English voices were to awful to stand. But I've also watched ADV's dub of Princess Tutu, which stayed very true to the Japanese and had good voice acting, as well as many, many bonus DVD features.

Hurhurhur. The 4kids profiles, as EVERYONE has already said, are just way too awesome.
FUNimation are pretty much made of win when it comes to dubs. They've always been really good. I just can't think of a series that they've already done that's really similar to PW/AA, though. ADV's scope seems to be a bit larger, I think.

Kyoto Animation is quite good and faithful with the art and storyline in adapting things...though video games are not their thing. Doubt they'd get something involved with Capcom.
Production I.G. is known for anime cutscenes in video games (Tales series; Professor Layton), and actually made full fledged series (FLCL; Ghost in Shell; Cromartie High; TeniPuri)... ...so I think they are a really good candidate.

But this would work well as an anime. But why are we talking about so few episodes? You have to do it justice. You'd need at least one episode for an investigation day, one episode for a trial day, etc...
And some would required multiple episodes. Otherwise its too rushed.
