Hurray! Someone I completely agree with! =) I love Lawyer!Phoenix. From the way he completely believes in people to his cute awkwardness to how he handles everything even though there's obviously a "kick me" sign on the defense bench.
And I'm a sucker for those fourth-grade Phoenix pictures.

I agree with Feenie being cute but annoying.
Lawyer!Phoenix I think is the most well-rounded of them. He's kind of like an idiot savant or something, and I like how he has a lot of belief in his clients, and searches for the truth, and won't accept lies. I wish more people were like that.

I liked Feenie. He was so sweet. I want to protect him...
He did however, benefit strongly from his subsequent 'development' between 3-1 and 1-1...
Hobo!Phoenix did endear me to the character even more. I'm still annoyed over how they just disbarred him in hindsight [that 'flashback trial' was a total farce, and he wasn't even in character!] and effectively ret-conned GS2 and 3 simply because they weren't creative enough to make a proper new arc, and then he doesn't even get to be a lawyer again either. Injustice!
The hotness upgrade worked well though, but I wish he'd got to take off the stupid hat. It was like they were forcibly requiring him to compromise his identity [notice it covers his weird zig-zag eyebrows too?] I LIKED his hair spikes. What I'd think of him if I played AJ first, I'll never know. As it is, I thought of him whilst playing as 'Lawyer!Phoenix after those cruel writers made him more jaded by ruining his life and trapped him in a video game, Phoenix subsequently realises and begins to manipulate said game..' (And I don't care if he forged evidence in 4-1, so I don't know what that game's trying to teach me..
)Lawyer!Phoenix was awesome. His utter dedication to his friends and that idealistic streak, that internal sarcasm [which went a long way in demonstrating he was not merely some bleeding heart idiot but actually had some judgment], his weird spikey hair... Did I ever enjoy being privilleged to view some of his inner monologue

And I think it would be a good idea to have Apollo to have more of the spotlight.
But I still worry for the day where we won't see Phoenix anymore.
