now... I'm basing this off of my knowledge of the legal system, that I learned in my government class. It can be assumed that most of these guys received some punishment for purgery, but y'know how things are in the Phoenix Wright universe.

GS1:

Frank Sawit after being tried for 1st degree murder, he'd more than likely plea guilty and be convicted of voluntary manslaughter. Needless to say, he has two choices:
1. Stay in solitary confinement for the next 40-something years

2. Be Willie "One-Eyed Monstrocity" Johnson's bitch for the next 40-something years

Redd White Convicted of first degree murder, police seize his blackmailed possesions (including Grossburg 's prize portrait). Spends the rest of his life in prison.

April May Convicted of second-degree murder, spends the next 20 years behind bars and is let off on parole.
(what I think): Returns to prison for multiple counts of prostitution and drug posession. Obviously the results of a failed career.

Devasque Waits in the lobby for nearly 3 hours. A future court case has proven her actions were "justified homicide", but she is sentenced to 5 years in prison. She immediately posts bail and is not heard from again.

Sal 3 weeks after "Turnabout Samurai", he 'accidently' slips down and elevator shaft and falls on 7 9mm bullets. The mafia had NOTHING to do with this. Maya Shock

Yanni Yogi After all the disgrace he has suffered over the years, combined with the shame in his actions, he takes his own life in prison.

Von Karma Receives capitol punishment in his role in the DL-6 case and GS1-4. He is now challenging Satan over the matter of who can be the gatekeeper of hell.

Lana Faced prison time for fourth-degree murder charges. The state is lenient on her because of the situation she was in. She eventually is released from prison and lives happily with Ema

Gant Is now on death-row, awaiting execution by firing squad. He frequently asks the other guards and inmates if they went swimming recently, during his 1 hour out-door period

GS2

Beef he killed a cop. His ass is grass.

Morgan spends 30 years in solitary confinement for the second-degree murder of Dr. Grey

Ini Mimi Spends the rest of her life in prison constantly wondering, "Like...when like, is my next, like... parole hearing?"

Ben takes his own life after Trilo is misplaced. (I know he didn't do anything, but you sorta saw something like this happening)

Acro Spends the rest of his days in a rehab facility in police custody. He falls into depression, with the hope of his brother recovering, being his only motivation to be alive.

(b^_^)b to end that on a good note, lets assume Bat wakes up and gets better.

Matt Is currently spending 40 years on Cell block B, trying to pass off his scars for street cred. His reputation is ruined and his fame is diminished entirely. He recently stabs a fellow inmate to lengthen his stay behind bars. (you prolly know why)

Shelly Continues doing what he does best. He is now currently contemplating a plan to infiltrate the penetentiary that Matt is located in. (For obvious reasons)

April and Morgan weren't guilty of second degree murder. Second Degree murder is rage killings. They were guilty of being accessories to murder as well as April's little tapping job on the side. Also why is Ben guilty of anything??

>_> apparently someone is not familiar with humor... Ben's entry was just a joke

Second-degree murder is when you actively assist in the murder of another person.

Voluntary manslaughter is when you kill someone "in an act of passion"

Damon Solitary Confinement after trying to rape his fellow prisoners.

Yuusaku Fatty Grossberg ate him because he thought his head was a giant cinnamon bun. (Couldn't resist)

You know NOTHING!

Dee and Sal became those things the user Cain said they did, although before that dee was released on bail and went with Morgan back to Kurain, they are nice now.

Ini and Lotta opened up a magazine, although Ini went to be a nun alongside Wendy, April, Adrian, and Morgan.

Frank Sawit killed on the spur of the moment. Wouldn't that make it second-degree murder? After all, he had no intention of murdering anyone.

Boy got OWNED!

Okay, let me see here....

Damon & Von Karma Sent to Texas( Marshall ) and exectued, in public, by a firing squad due to the extremeties of their crimes and evilness. WERE fighitng over who get to rule hell. Black mail all around everybodies! Okay, Karma wasn't sent there by Jake, but they were killed at the same time. And I heard that Texas' death row is putting in an exprese lane so...yah.

Chimani -Yes, yes, we all know what happened to her, but then She owned Satin, Karma, Gant, (all the otehr villans), Aldof, Sudame, an evil kitty, and became ruler of Hell. Then she ate a muffin. Oh, everyone is now her bitch.

You could say the same about Von Karma. He never planned to kill Gregory, he just opened the door, saw the gun and opened fire. You also never actually prove that he had anything to do with the killing of Hammond.

So each killer was convicted with the following:

Spoiler: All killers from the first two games
Frank Sawit: Second degree murder

Redd White: First degree murder

Devasque: Justified self-defense

Yanni Yogi: First degree murder

Von Karma: Second degree murder

Damon: First degree murder (Neil); Second degree murder (Goodman)

Wellington: Unsure, this would seem to fall into a grey area between first and second degree.

Ini Mimi: First degree murder

Morgan: Conspiracy to commit murder

Acro: First degree murder

Enguard: First degree murder (in-game, it is made clear that the client of an assassin is considered the murderer)

This list, obviously, does not count the multitude charges of Perjury or Obstruction of justice. Then again, it doesn't seem like anyone is charged with those in-game anyway Nick.

They probably are tried for perjury and whatnot, just in a different court so that their charges for murder and perjury stack up like the higher court system they talk about when you get a Game Over.

Actually, although Karma was angry at first, he premeditated before commiting the deed. (Making it look like Edgey did it, going on vacation etc.) He pretty much admits to shooting Gergory Edgeworth in cold blood (So its up to the judge to decide whether it's 1st or 2nd degree)

Then theres the sentencing for assisting Yogi in the murder of Hammond.

EDIT: Rewrote, I got the wrong name :F

But you forget that PW world law is nothing like real world law!!

In the PW world, Maya was on trial for a murder EVEN THE PROSECUTOR ADMITTED she had to have comitted under a state of possession, and had no control over. This is not a system of law based on logic, people!

I'm also pretty certain there's no such thing as 3rd and 4th degree murder. 1st is pre-meditated, 2nd is non pre-meditated, Manslaughter is accidental. Then there's also accessory to murder (assisting, or covering up after the fact) and Felony Murder (a death that takes place during the comission of another crime).

Unless the entirety of the topic is a joke, in which case...it's not that funny. Sal

Karma didn't kill Hammond. Yogi did. And he didn't make it look Edgeworth did it, Edgeworth thought it himself. And he went on holiday to recover from his wound.

If you lose a trial (lose you life and get a guilty verdict), it says you must have a further trial at the high court pending a sentence.

We can only asssume that any witnesses found guilty have the same procedure to decide their faith.

His crime was commited during the commisson of another crime (Burglary) so it counts a Felony Murder. He would serve a lenghty sentence for both the murder and the Burglary.

Chimani On the way back to the other world Misty would have said this to her.

"Ashes to Ashes,
Spirit to Spirit,
Take her soul,
Banish this Evil."

At which point Chimani is vanquished and ceases to exist.

That's not quite how felony murder works - that's still second degree murder. Felony murder would be more like if he broke into the house, and when Cindy came home she tried to fend him off and...maybe fell on something sharp and died. It's when someone's criminal actions lead to the death of a person, even if they didn't kill the person directly.

I asked the practical law teacher at my school about this. Most states don't have 3rd degree murder, and the ones that do, it's basically Voluntary Manslaughter.
