Sal Manella's speech in GS1 (Jpn)?

In the US, Sal Manella apparently uses Leet speek. However, I've been wondering. Does he use some kind of gibberish/weird language in the Japanese version (GS1) also, or is he more strait forward in Japan? I've just wondering/curious as to why Capcom of USA chose to use leet speek for Sal Manella's english translaton. Sal

I don't know about the Japanese version, but he's just as annoying in the French version, I am currently on 'Rise from the Ashes' but he spoke in leet then too.

It's been a while since I played the first game, but I think Sal's leet isn't as extreme as in the English. A lot of (lol) (sweatdrop) that sort of thing. But then, I don't hang out around Japanese forums to know how extent their leet can be.

You could try to wikipedia it? I have no idea, but I think it could be very similar, but Japanese numbers and stuff.
