hello! first post. possible spoilers, hope this is in the right thread. that said...


i'm totally stuck on case 5, scene: evidence room, sector three.

i looked at the walkthrough on court-records and found that i had done everthing i needed to do, but i still cannot progress to the scene in the high prosecutor's office. i have gotten all the info, found all the bloodstains, and put the jar together and examined it.

according to the walkthrough, at this point detective gumshoe mentions that edgeworth's inquiry commitee should be letting out soon, so he's rushing off to check out the result. this has not happened for me yet, and i cant figure out why. when i go to the high prosecutor's office, no one is there. has anyone else gotten stuck here, or have any ideas as to what i'm missing?

i also dont understand the luminol fluid. when you first find a bloodstain with it, ema or someone will make a comment about it. however, if you try to come back later and spray it again, no one says anything. this is different from the rest of the game where you can pretty much watch everything over and over again if you want to. is there a way to get ema to talk about the bloodstains after you've found them? what really gets to me is how i'm finding these bloodstains everywhere, but i cant talk to anyone about them, and i have no record of finding them, so i cant present them to anyone either.

i have gone to every area and examined it, presented all evidence to each character, and taken all of their statements. i've done this several times, in fact, so i'm wondering if i have made some esoteric blunder that there is no returning from, making it impossible to progress, leaving me with no choice but to start the chapter over.

i'm going try this with the walkthrough tonight, but i'm fairly sure i've already done everything it tells me to do.

any ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

youre in luck well...not so much luck i was going to finish that case tonight but i can try to do this case again tommorow sometime and ill probably have your answer then.

have u got the ID card record sheet from offior marshall u have to show him goodmans ID card to get it but u have to bring up the part bout showing him sum evidence to get it, then show the ID record to gumshoe and other people that shud work if not i am not sure wat to do hope it helps thought

I think the trick is to spray the bloodstains with luminol fluid several times, until it triggers a further conversation about them and they get added to the Court Record. If I remember correctly the don't get added immediately the first time your spray them, you have to do it 3 or 4 times.

At least I think that's it; I haven't played that case in a while. Forgive me if I'm wrong and just have a bad memory.

Things you may have missed:

-The glove on the police tape .
-Examine Gumshoe's locker (one with the handprint).
-Examine Goodman's locker (it's open) I THINK I'm not sure.
-Luminol the top left most locker.
-Luminol the right screen, behind the police tape, between the rows of lockers. Big pool of blood. (I always miss this)
-Ask Jake about the Evidence room list. Show him Goodman's ID. (If he isn't talking, give him the Steak Lunch that Angel gave you).
-Show Gumshoe the Evidence Room list.

If this still doesn't work then show Gumshoe and Jake everything. I'm baffled :[

ja, it was totally the glove. i couldnt believe i had spent over an hour searching everywhere including that room and never found that freakin glove.

luckily, no esoteric blunder.

i still cant figure out what to do with the bloodstains on the high prosecutor's office floor, the stain on the cactus, the stain on the phone and by the car in the underground parking lot.
